It was a war !
After letting mother nature beat us three times we finally got it done !The 2017 N.C./S.C. Clash is in the books !
We had to move it over to the enemy territory but finally got it in. Started out a bit chilly. Oh heck no it was COLD ! My little guage in the truck had 23 at launch time. The one on the boat showed 22. Either way it was cold. Other than that is was smooth sailing. Little ice on the ramp but everyone managed it just fine. High Rock Lake was down about 4 ft. I heard. So where do you look for fish when its that cold and water down . In the water was a good place to start. Water temp was 44 up to 46 at weigh in. Little breeze but not bad. We had a super turnout for the event. Four brave crews from S.C. made the trip. There was I think 7 or 9 N.C. boats. Cant make out the writing Stevie put down. Anyway the odds were against us S.C. boys, but we dont back down from a good scrap. The fishing was a little off but if you searched around you could find a few. They were anywhere from 15 down to 30 fow. Figure that one out. Some guys pulled jigs and caught fish . Others tightlined minnows. Met some of the faces behind the names you see on here. Glad to meet everyone of you. A few people promised they were signing up on C.D.C soon as they got home.Join the fun. You will never meet a better bunch of guys and girls to fish with or talk fishing. Welcome aboard to ya !. Hope to see you again soon. Now the good stuff. For the top 7 for individual spot was:
Cecil & Cecil with 7.11 lbs.
2nd went to Mr. Ken. Sorry cant make out the last name. at 7.6 lbs.
And 3rd went to our favorite team. Team Remus with 7.4. lb
Congratulations to you guys. Well done.
Now individual big fish went to : Cecil & Cecil with 2.8 lb.
A note here on the weights: The weight is with a 7. oz pan in the weights. So for more precise totals subtract 7 oz. from each weight. But everyone got the weight with pan included. Scale master to lazy to keep zeroing it out each time. But everyone was weighed the same.
Now for the Clash results. After a vote among everyone there it was decided to weigh the four biggest fish from each team. Therefore after a handpicked team of expert mathmaticians
and score keepers it was decided that
With a total of 4 big fish at 6.21 lbs against a total of 7.04 lbs the winning state will be !!!!
Bet ya waitin on the results aint ya. Well hold on one more moment.
Let me say Thanks to everyone that came out. And to those that donated time and effort into this event Thanks Daniel ,BiggDawgg , turkeyfoot , and everyone else I missed. Thanks !
O.K I run my yap enough.
This years winner of the N.C. / S.C. Clash will be SOUTH Carolina by a slim margin. Again Thanks to all
Oh yes , That is all ice on the ramp in the picture !

It was the good, the bad, and the ugly! The good was we had fun, the bad was we had to quit and go home and the ugly, well that was John!:Rofl Thanks to everyone because you made this happen and there will be always another one. John! You and Turkeyfoot put on a good event Thank You! I along with team Remus were glad we could be part of it. We had a tuff time finding the few fish we had but our young man of the group pulled in a few whoppers to help our live well fill up! Cameron ( Perch Fox ) is a fine fisherman one heck of a boat mate!:twocents I'm glad to have made everyone's acquaintance and enjoyed hearing you laugh at all of us. We are considered not to be right in the head as you may have heard. High Rock is a very nice place to fish and I would like to fish it again if Jig Puller will let me have a few of his jigs of choice.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone :santa

It was great meeting all you guys. Now that I've been to one of the events, I'm hooked. Let me know when the next one is and do my best to be there at sign in. We didn't weigh any of our fish because we didn't get on the water till around 9 and didn't sign in. At weigh time we had 23 keepers in the livewell. I'd guess our best 7 was about 6lbs which wouldn't have been in the top 3, but our biggest was over a pound so that added to the .7 bucket woulda helped the north a little.
After the tourney and a very good lunch at the restaurant at the landing, we went back and fished one more dock. They were there! In total we caught over a hundred for the day and took about 45 home for the grease.
Biteman and Bobbin that were fishing with me has both sworn their allegiance to the C.C. family and you should see them participate soon!
Chris

NCKenner, Glad you made it out, you should have signed up when you got back in.
Check the South Carolina board as well as North Carolina, we post events like night stalks and other events, everyone is welcome
-
Yeah, you should have spoke up because its all in fun. No money pay out I'm sure it would be okay with NC guys but SC guys might have to sic the Dawgg on you!:Rofl I knew once it warmed up some fish had to bite some where. If we were more familiar with the lake we might have done a little better.:dono Glad you made it out and joined in with us. We aren't that bad of a bunch of fellows. Like John said we'll have something going soon. May be a perch jerk or another nightstalk some where! I would like to do Fishing Creek at Great Fall SC or Stumpy Pond same area in Jan or Feb. Day time of coarse. Small Lakes but good fishing in there!:highfive Glad I got to meet you.
