Going is the e z part ,getting back to the ramp could be a challenge lol. Just joking, Good Luck
Good luck..... Hope you load the boat..... Photos please....
Well ................................
5:30am now, got boat loaded, ready to go= pea soup fog outside .....
Predicted winds supposed to pick up a little ...
Not having GPS, being tired ..... Decided to take a rain check on it ..................
Goin back to bed ....
WHAAAAT!
Next time. All ways next time.
You really need to get that GPS fixed. Loosing good fishing days. Don't forget to use that wrist action when you go.
Coming up on 8:30am, just got up, could still go ....but ....
Don't know what's the matter with me, am tired, feel wore out (just took two Aleve) = am aching and sore,
Had the clock set to go off at 4:30, but woke up at 3:30, decided to just go ahead and get up, hate the sound
of that alarm. Got boat all loaded up, had an hour to wait till lift off = sitting there, noding off, watching crap commercial TV .......
Got ready, even went in bedroom and kissed ole lady bye. Got to front door and was thinking of that drive all the way over to Sanford.
Gamble that it might be too windy ........................ I just threw the towel in and said to myself " heck with it" ....
I might be reaching "Burn Out", don't know yet. A fail at Harney (much closer) didn't help, A failed engine didn't help either......
A failed GPS don't help, I got an new one in the mail, should get here soon. I ordered it then started reading a lot of bad reviews
about it (Hook-7) so, that's probably gonna be a bust too .............
Last night I even hesitated about posting that I was going, thinking that it wouldn't look good if I posted I was going then didn't go, so, that might insure me to the commitment etc. etc......
Hmmmm, gonna go and ponder this situation for awhile ..................
Dang, hope you get to feeling better Danny. Blame the weather change. I too was gonna go out this morn and decided against it. Partly cause I have stuff to do, and partly cause I didn't want to put pants on (I wear shorts as much as possible)! Brrr, there's a chill in the wind! lol
Man, what the hay !! I was hoping to get some kinda great phantom report later today, thought it was gonna be good !!
I woke up this morning too & thought man I could go fishing, got ready & realized gotta drop kid off at school & then go to W@*K !!:banghead
I guess the bad day of fishing thing is over when you ain't got a jay oh bee !!
Hey Danny.... You might be just gettin old! Look here.... It's not for public broadcast, but I got sources that report harneys giving it up now! You heard it here first!:yikes
Are you eaten too many shrimps? Got u clogged up.LOL
Ya know, I did make up a big ole pot of Jambalaya with lots of hot sausage and shrimp last night ......
And ate a goodly helpin (or two) ..........
Might've made me awful tired by this morning, of course, I had a few bites of the stuff this
morning when I got up too ........
I feel OK right now, still don't know if I feel like dragging the boat all the way over there etc, etc, etc ....
Hang in there Brain, you will get you turn and enjoy it like all of us retirees have.

Hey Danny,
Title says,GOING IN THE MORNING, doesn't say which MORNING! :biggrin :ThumbsUp
nonono"Burn-Out"...PLEASE.....Aren't you suppose to be on patrol? Now go out there & be "LEGEND":superman
Now Danny, you got a reputation to uphold.
I can't eat big and go to bed. My thought is that the body is busy digesting the food and doesn't rest properly. Might explain some of the sluggish feeling. Whatever it may be, I hope you're up and running soon, I need some Phantom reports!!
Ha ! ! ! ! ! !
This is how it works for me ........................>>>>>>>>>>>>
Was on the lake the other day, GPS crapped out (GPS Module not responding). It did that a few years ago, I took it to some geniuses
and they said I needed a new antenna, and I got one, then they say I got to install new software = I did and GPS has worked beautifully
ever since, but fish finder didn't work worth a ding dang, however, I could live with it........
Now, at this late date (11 years later since I bought the unit) it tells me that "GPS Module Not Responding" again ! ! I figure the unit is finally
giving up the ghost and ordered a new one (came in today). Got it un-boxed and hooked it up on the bench = works good ....
Just as a thought, I took old unit out there and installed on boat, just to make sure it indeed was shot ===== IT WORKED PERFECTLY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
So, now what am I going to do = I'm going to install the Sonar sending unit in the bottom of the boat, run the wire on up the console, connect the other
wire to 12V and then I'll have two sonar units and two sets of 12V wires so that I can interchange units etc, etc,
Don't know how long my old one is going to last, but I'll be ready with this new one if it does etc, etc, etc ......
Danny, did you hook the connectors from the new d-finder to the old unit? Sure sound like a wiring issue with the old unit, should maybe go through old wiring & cut back connections to good wire as well as your power switch & switch itself=maybe power, but weak, at least now you can throw 1 up front, mount you a chair & tight-line:biggrin
Well, I had been using it and it was working fine when it started that (GPS Module Not Responding). I believe I had good electric,
way back I went through the fuse issues = wound up with flat fuse with waterproof case etc, etc ...
What I suspect is that the wire/plug from the GPS antenna (external) was not making good contact somehow (it is on a plug that
twist-locks on etc, etc .......
Then again, it could be the unit is indeed giving up the ghost, just being intermittent about it. Only one way to find out = take it out and see how it's going to act ect, etc ......
But I know dang good and well if I sent this new unit back, my old unit would definitely go bonk ! ! ! Therefore, I've decided to
just 5200 my new transducer in the bilge beside my other one and hook up new 12V wiring parallel with old wiring, that way I can use either one (in case one goes out) = I checked, new one will fit in old one's mounting bracket etc, etc, etc .....
Also, don't care for this "internal" GPS antenna, if I'd of only had internal on my old one, it would've been trashed long time ago when antenna went out on it etc, etc..... I figure that's the way they want it (no external antenna) so ya gotta trash em when the antenna goes out, but ................ I digress ..................
Don't really care to install one up front etc, etc, etc ........
If you still have your old antenna try a 'Q' tip with wd40 on pins and see if that helps, have been intermittently getting GPS not responding for years and blame it on the connector 'living in the rain'. Don't need it most places I fish as have fished them for years before GPS. Catch a bunch.--shu
Tx's Shu, that's probably the problem ................ Will see .............
Yeah, I have dozens of places/stumps/posts/ waypointed, and trails on mine just in
case I am lost in the fog or running at night (especially over here in the indian River).
I feel naked without it ......
