Someone has stolen a pic off the internet and claimed to have caught it in Louisiana but you and everyone on the Mississippi board knows the boy that caught it. That's a Mississippi born and breed fish
Male fish, just over 3 lbs by a great fisherman not a picture borrower
Figured with all the fisherman on the board someone would know who had caught it. A coworker of mine sent me the pic and said it was caught by someone in his home town, but wasn’t sure of the guys name. Usually a good start to a fishing tale. I know I’d love to see one of those jokers break the surface this weekend!

pretty sure bird down caught that fish....
Did they say what it weighed?
Judging from the size, I think John is on the money and knows the fish and fisherman that caught it. But that is purely speculation. Most standard 5 gal buckets are roughly 17 3/4” give or take, and a healthy fish like the one pictured should be a smidge over 3, guy who sent me the pic didn’t have any specifics other than local ms caught fish. Again, lots of hearsay and I don’t like making claims that i think may be inaccurate. Guy who sent me pic is not an avid fisherman, so no telling.

It’s on the internet so must be true! He can catch em so I wouldn’t doubt the accuracy of this post.

I caught the fish wading on may 5th. It's a male. It weighed 3.04 lbs. I didn't measure it. The bucket is a 5 gallon bucket. It's a big 4 crappie. Anything else you hear is a lie. I've seen it all over the internet, some folks claim it to be one of there many 4 lbers they've caught. It's been good entertainment though.
I have never caught a 3# fish, but now I have some idea what one looks like. I takes a lot of fish to reach 3#!

Those are nice ones Josh
Is buckets the new fish comparison object now? I used to use soda or beer cans, looks like I need to catch bigger fish or procure smaller buckets, lol. Nice fish Andrews, not sure I would swap out both of those for the one bird caught though, was a stud male for sure :biggrin
Both of these were females.

Oops I guess it’s not the fish I’m thinking about. The one I saw was just as long but weighed 3.54. Caught in the spring on one of the big 4. She was a female though.

90% of people I know their largest crappie came from Grenada . As good as it is now it falls way short of what it was 40 plus years ago . Back when all fish with scales was 100 my dad and uncles caught dish pans of 2 lb. and up every trip . Things were different then as they only fished when it was to wet to farm .
