they are jackfish, or chain pickerel

Great looking fish! Love the coloring.
Caught this one trolling for crappie in 12 feet of water. I took its picture because of its color. It was about 7 feet deep. Caught on a white grub. Water temp was 72. I turned it loose.

Hey Hot Rod, This is exactly how they look when you pull them out of the water. They look almost like they are bleeding. The bigger males have a lot more color than the younger fish. They are great fun and pull really well on light tackle in moving water.Quote:

That is very true for the Altamaha River but the Satilla is still the top producer of Red Belly's. Only problem with the Satilla is it gets really low if we dont get any rain.Quote:
