Has anyone heard if these lakes are gonna remain with no creel or size limits?
Have not heard anything but I hope they don't leave it like this much longer.
Hope they change it back or make a slot limit. All you want below 10" but only 10 above 10". High Rock has been down for so long in size it would be nice to protect the bigger fish. This keeping 175, 115, 75, 64 etc over 10" is going to destroy the crappie once again on High Rock.
This is whole reason they put this law in place. The lake is over populated and it the why the fish are not growing to there bigger sizes.

I agree. That's why we leave the bigger fish and take out the little fish. If the lake is over populated and the fish are not getting bigger, take out the little fish to reduce the population and leave the bigger fish to grow to even bigger fish.
Well look at Jordan 10" minimum fish and look at the Quality they have it's easy to go over there and catch a pound and a half to two Pounders all day long.

Big fish have bigger appetites. That's why I don't agree with releasing all big fish, a few here and there isn't bad. I don't agree with a 10 inch limit on High Rock, not saying it wouldn't work but I can live with a no size but a creel limit.
I have fished a few ponds in my area with crappie and 2 were terribly stunted. Over time, I kept(and I'm sure some others did too)every crappie I caught. Within a couple years, size improved a lot.
Default Jordan results
Not exactly easy at Jordon but I get your point. Below are, in my opinion, the best crappie fishermen around. The winner did average 1.51 but CCA has only been going back there for the last two years because the quality was so bad. Had a lot to do with everyone sitting under the 64 bridge and taking 1000's out a week. I respect all opinions on this. I'm just going to agree to disagree.

I agree to disagree as well. I'll fallow whatever law the big biologist decides that we need for each lake.

I agree with turkeyfoot. At Moss Lake in Kings Mt NC the biologist put a a 8"size limit with a 20 fish creel limit been that way for years. You can't hardly catch fish there anymore and your lucky to catch any fish over 11". I think it depends on the individual lake at the amount of water acreage it has and the food source it has for the fish as to how big they get and how they reproduce. Just my option but if you don't keep thinning the fish out it will stunt there growth

No crappie in moss lake........
Certain times of the year I can catch a few there but a lot of small fish. Catch them mostly by flat lining

Not trying to make anybody look bad, I know everybody has their own way of how they keep fish. Like others have said, whatever the rule about size/creel, I'll follow it. If I don't like it, I'll go somewhere else!
That's right

I'll use common sense over common law every time. It is legal to go to Colorado and buy pot and smoke it but I don't. It is legal to go to Vegas and buy a woman but I don't. In North Carolina it is legal to marry your 1st cousin but I don't. I don't put a lot of faith in the man downtown but all my faith in the MAN UPTOWN.
When God gave humanity dominion over the animals, it was in order to care for, tend to, and use those animals to their fullest potential in a just manner. At the time that God gave mankind dominion over the animals, humans did not eat meat (Genesis 1:29). Eating meat did not begin until after the Flood (Genesis 9:1–3), and it was at that time that animals started to fear humans. However, although God changed the way we interact with animals, in that they are now “meat,” we still bear a responsibility to treat animals humanely. Human rule over animals does not mean we have the right to mistreat or misuse those animals.
Having dominion over the animals should entail a humane management of them as the resource God has ordained them to be. We should consider that mankind was given the task (and blessing) of representing God in this world. We are the caretakers. We hold sway over all the earth, and we (bearing God’s image) bear a responsibility to act as God would. Does God misuse His creation? No. Is God unwise in His management of resources? No. Is God ever cruel or selfish or wasteful? No. Then neither should we be. Any misuse or mistreatment of God’s creation is the result of sin, not the result of following God’s original command. We must fulfill our duty to manage the earth wisely until that time when the wolf shall lie down with the lamb in the kingdom of Christ (Isaiah 11:6).
I also am a Christian and know what God says about our resources for food. I don't get to hunt much anymore do to back and hip problems therefore I fish a lot. I can assure you that every fish I catch or any wild game I kill or that is given to me , that food is eaten by my family on a daily bases. There's no fish or wild game that gets freezer burn in my freezer. Sometimes I will give fish to some people at my church that are not as fortunate as myself to be able to get out and kill or catch my on meat. I to will abide by all laws and regulations set by our wildlife commission

there is a much bigger problem on Jordan and High Rock lake, and that is all the thousand and thousand of komorants. They will eat more in one day that all of the fisherman take out in a month. Just get up early and see for yourself. But the wildlife do not care or want do anything about them. They have ruined lake Mattamusket, with so much poop, that they have changed the p h in it. I got that info from a wildlife officer. We need to put some heat under ther wildlife adminnistreation to do something about this problem. South Carolina has all reedy had a season on the komorants.
I agree. I was a duck and goose guide for over 20 yrs on the currituck sound and those suckers are terrible. And your right about the ph level they will change it and they will eat any fish in there sight
