Smart business there, I have found this myself.
A good tip for sure. I got md when I see discarded fishing line in the water or along the bank waiting to do damage to fish and wildlife. Take it home with you you brought it, lot of launches have a disposable place for fishing line use it!
Great tip. I just traded for a used boat about 3 weeks ago and have not had time to carry it out. I am going to check this before I head out this morning.
Thanks for the heads up. Great tip.:highfive
Good tip. I put any line I take off my reels in an empty water bottle and put the cap back on and it will go in the recycle bin. Good place for it.
Hi-Vis Yellow, makes it easy to get the birds nest out!

I went out straight away to check mine. Got it cleaned out. Appreciate the tip
You ALMOST had an excuse to buy one of those New models, with the upgraded Spot Lock. :biggrin :ThumbsUp
That same line will cost a fortune on your outboard if it eats the seal up. Usually by the time you discover it, it's because your lower unit already has issues.
Nothin spells "I don't care about the land or water" like a pile of old line...
Then the first people to gripe, when a spot gets shut down for litter.
We all break off now and again, and that's just part of it, but big piles are avoidable. Just a little effort on our part.

Because crappie folks tend to drop down close to the trolling motor this is a fairly frequent problem . I find this same thing in my trolling motor every year , wind and other factors cause the boat to swing one way or the other and there you have it , line in the trolling motor ....great read ...real facts
Really good information, thanks for the tip
It supposed to be this I hit the wrong key not??
I've cleaned mine out before but never had that much. Wow....
wow.. that is definitely a problem
:biggrin been there done that!
been there
Done it myself.
WOW! That is amazing. Something we need to do more often for sure. THANKS!
Great advice. I got trotline cord wrapped around my shaft and it broke the cotter pin in there...no drive to the trolling motor, ended my day. A 2pk replacement prop nut and drive pin was 12 bucks...will always be carrying a spare with me.
Great share. Had the same thing happen to me just this summer.

The hardest thump I ever got was from a troll motor. Thought I had a whale.
