Me and a buddy trying to fish Reelfoot this weekend wondering if the fish are biting. Wondering of a good place to stay Have anyone stay with Sports man Resort. I notice that they have decent prices. Or of any other resort. Coming from Ohio this will be our first adventure fishing out of state any information would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance
Ive stayed at Cypress point. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and the people were really friendly.
Me and the wife stayed there on a 4 day package previously. No complaints. Nice people. Like fish addict said not fancy, but clean and comfortable.

Wind and weather WILL DEFINITELY be a factor. Keep in mind there is very little to do in that little town other than fish. Boyettes dining Hall has excellent onion rings!!
Thanks a lot. I just want to wet a line try to catch a few and enjoy the weekend. Did you guys catch a bunch and if so minnows or jigs. And anything a must to have or to mal sure I bring besides cooler and poles. Thanks again
Rain all 4 days i was there. Wind was 20+ everyday. Waves were literally breaking over the side of the boat. Scenery was nice!!!
If you have the funds, find a guide and try to get a half day trip or maybe pay them to take you to some spots to try. That is one hard lake to fish.

Two day duck season opens this weekend,Nov 11&12. may want to fish the south
end

I’m from East TN, and have only fished in West TN one time. We left Reelfoot and went to Kentucky Lake. As I recall, it wasn’t terribly far. To clarify, we were camping and the rain came down in buckets, and everything we had was soaked, thanks to sorry tents! We needed to get inside four walls, so we drove to Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake. Reelfoot Lake and the area is beautiful!
Douglas lake in dandridge TN has great crappie numbers. Little farther drive but good fishing. Saturday should be a good day. Sunday is rain.

Ain't nothin here in big sand river but big mouth asian carp and 9.9 inch crappie.
Spider rigging in 10-12' water with minnows might net you a few. Cypress Point or Blue Bank are probably the best options for a place to stay. Watch out for stumps and flying carp!

I’d try the south end. Did well there few weeks ago. Headed over Saturday morning myself.
While trying to find a place to book notice that's some Resorts are closef for duck hunting season will that be an issue
Just fish the south end of the lake away from the duck blinds. Duck hunting is king over there and you wouldn't want to be rude and interrupt someone's hunt. The south end in 10-12 fow is good advice.
I would like to thank all the gentleman that gave me information on reelfoot lake even though we didn’t make the information that you provided us was helpful. We decided to go up to Port Huron an walleye fish instead. We had a good time but there’s not like swinging crappie over the side of the boat. Lol Thanks again for your help.
