Asking all the Crappie Gurus on Crappie.com--What are your guides on fishing before and the-and after a full moon? I was always taught 3 days before and 3 days after. Is this just a old fishermans tale or is it true. What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

That is true for bedding bream but for crappie the best bite for me on a full moon have been mid day fishing.
Fish when you can and don't worry about the moon old wives tale
Fish into the day light hrs. You won't be disappointed
We were on the water bout 7>00 a.m. today. Caught fish biggest part of the day. When the wind would let us stay on em. Night Staliking I think is different. Full moon has been a poor time for me. Most times. Just my 2 dents.
Thanks for the imputs!
I don't know about anybody else but I fish in the water never been able to get to the moon too fish in it :Rofl :Rofl :biggrin
Yeah but you got fleas !
:Rofl :Rofl :Rofl changed it on ya
I heard no moon is better for night fishing with a light
It is better for dark nights. You will pull in more bait and the Crappie will come to the Minnows.
The darker the better.

I have rarely paid attention to the moon till coming on this sight and will have to say readers were talking about the rising of the FM would trigger fish feeding. was at my home lake, few anglers were catching much nor was I when looked up late in day and saw the full moon rising in all it's glory. suddenly the Bite turned on bigtime and after having a couple of keepers in several hours fishing, had my limit in literally minutes. that was in late winter and about only time I have had opportunity to fish with it being a deal.
