Where's my Pink ones ?? :scratchhead :Rofl
Seriously, though .... that first pic is pretty close to the colors of marabou RR's that I'm giving away in the Contest Forum.

Though I will have to say, I like your version better !! Specifically, the hammered blade, no paint on the barrel swivel, and those twin tails of the "flash" material. Maybe TTI/Blakemore should tell their mfg group in Haiti to start a Nantz Road Runner lineup !! :biggrin
They look fantastic skip .
Great work as always.
You sell these beauty's???????? [email protected]
You bet he does !! ... have a look: Crappie Jigs Home Page
Nice looking jigs
Skip are those plated heads? Sure do have a deep shine!
Wel lCrappiePappy, I got the color combo from them originally, lol! When I first stumbled on to long line trolling in the late 1970's via accident. One day drift fishing because the wind was terrible and even though I was mostly a bass guy then, I took a 1/32 Oz Roadrunner and started drifting and started catching some very nice crappie. Then it hit me as I was thinking about this that I could also do the same thing even if the wind was not blowing by using my troll motor. So I started doing this a lot and it paid off really well. Just so happens this color combo was in their offerings back that long ago and still do today! I just happen to call it my Christmas Jig! However I am not sure, but almost looks like they may have changed from a FL Yellow Tail to a FL Chartreuse shade, but I am not sure about what they have now really.
I also told him (their president) they should offer Skip's Favorites, lol!

Thanks guys really appreciate the comments!

They call it a Fluor Red head ... but, it looks more towards a flat orange to me. That picture I posted is from their website, and shows the tail to be more yellowish chartreuse, but the ones in my group are more towards the limetreuse coloration.
My original thought when I first saw them .... Christmas jig !! :biggrin
I've caught many a Crappie trolling a marabou RR behind the boat in the Spring, usually when my next target area is too close to bother starting up the big motor and idling to it. I couldn't even tell you how many Crappie I've caught casting or trolling a RR. And so far, a solid Pink or solid Chartreuse marabou RR has accounted for over 90% of those fish. And I've done so well with the solid Pink that a couple of my fishing buddies have either received some of them from my stash, or saw that they did so well that they've ordered their own from you !!
The true color name for the head is Flame Red. Note about this color....this color powder paint is the easiest one to mess up because if you leave it in the oven too long the color changes to an ugly shade of I am not sure what to call it other than ugly. When cured right the color should be on the Orange side or Red for sure, but not as Orange as Blaze Orange is, lol! It is also a color if done over a White base is even more bright.
I can't tell you how many crappie I have caught on these, but it's many many!

those are works of art rather than just fishing lures. Nice work.
:hesaid
I appreciate all this, but I am not looking for any orders for these. I do some from time to time for a few guys these days, but I am getting too old and have too many physical issues to tie a lot on a regular basis. I really kind of stopped tying for people (a few years ago) just because I don't move as fast any more and my shoulder hurts when tying more than just a few. I still do tie a little, but just not into the fast tying any more. I sell materials like chenille and saltwater neck hackle more these days. I just have a lot of stuff and it got easier to sell materials than tying jigs, but as my hobby I do still love tying so do it when I can and just do it slower which makes it more enjoyable.
Again thank you all!

Looking great my friend
Very Nice
Very nice indeed
Old post, nice jigs
Yes old post for sure and I don’t tie them for anyone other than myself any longer. Just got too hectic and staying behind 2-3 months for 3 years was just too much. I started trying more for something to do and fun, that fun part was gone! Now it’s fun again just tying for myself really!

I’ve always said when the hobby becomes work it’s no longer fun.
