Camper winterizing

Last year I drained the camper except for the outdoor shower. We set up a plastic table and wash dishes there instead of inside. Thursday we got the campsite set up. Saturday morning we have a few dishes to wash. I turn on the shower and water goes everywhere.
3 years ago I paid $19 for the whole kit with the lock box to install in the camper. Another $20 for the tube and shark bite fittings. Sunday evening I check on ebay for a new faucet and the inside part $29 to $59, some had free shipping and some had $12 shipping. I looked a bit more and found a whole kit for $20 with free shipping, it's in the mail.
I borrowed a tool set to remove the bites and removed the faucet yesterday. The plastic section between the 2 water valves is cracked. I carried it to my local RV dealer. Without handles they want $59. Good thing I ordered one the day before.

Make sure you winterize the outside shower this year, just drain all the water from the outside shower lines during the winterizing process (either blowing the lines out with air compressor or pumping RV antifreeze though out all the lines) which ever you do.

Pour RV antifreeze in all your sink traps. Open all faucets before you drain the water lines.

I blow out my line with air and antifreeze in the drains.

Hello: I never used air. I always flush the system with rv antifreeze. Don't forget to drain and flush the water heater. Good Luck. O - R

Turn the water heater in bypass and drain it. I use air as well. Set the air output equal to water pressure and start at the farthest point opening valves. Then pour RV antifreeze in the drain traps.

I'm still hoping to get in a trip or two. Please quit talking about this "winter" thing.

CatFan, I'm the same way. We enjoy fall and early winter camping.
I've always removed the anode rod from the water heater, blown the lines out and add anitfreeze to the drains.
Looking at some campers this weekend when leaving the campground. They had a small trail of water from under the rv. I asked, it's the system drain. Open the drain, open all the faucets and the system is drained by the time we get home. Since I'm in the camper I raised the bed where the water heater is. I don't have a drain, looking through the box of parts from removing the water tank I didn't see one. I have a 1/2" female fitting that I plugged that went to the tank. I'll head to the hardware store today to get fittings, hose, clamps and valve to make a drain.

Oh! be sure to open the faucets before you apply the air.

I got the new shower unit in today about 11 am. I removed the faucet and shower hose from the plastic box, installed it into my box. Put the shark bite fittings on, hooked up the garden hose to check for leaks, good to go. I sent the ebay seller a very grateful thank you for the price I paid.
