New old boat about ready
Bought an older skeeter aluminum bass boat to make into a crappie fishing machine. Been a little tough fishing from the pontoon. Got my hook 9 mounted and working on mounting the spyderloks on the front now. Should be ready to give it a try this weekend I hope. Anybody spider rigging flat swamp on High Rock? I know they have been on the docks, but thinking this cold front may push them a little deeper.

I went this past weekend, caught 20 on jigs trolling. Water level is down 3 to 4 feet.
-
Thanks. Will probably give it a try Saturday. Were they any size?
-
Didn't catch many but everything was around 10-11 inches. Biggest was 12, had 4 that size in the mix.
-
That is pretty good for high rock. Usually catch a bunch, but not a lot of bigger fish.
-
I striper fished Sat. morning. No line siders but caught 4 crappie pulling a crank bait in my spread. Should have netted the biggest BUT looked like it was 16" or so. You know how the fish tales get started. Hopefully be out this weekend.

If you see an old skeeter give me a shout. It is grey with burgundy carpet. May bring my pontoon if so it is black bennington. If my buddy goes he likes lots of room.

Clod you pulling alabama rigs for the stripers? Never tried stripers on high rock. How is trolling there? I usually pull two alabama rigs off each side- one white and one chartreuse and then some type of crank down the middle. How deep are you finding them and where. May start out Saturday looking for them then change over to crappie a little later.

I have been talking to some guys that have been catching quite a few crappies in flat swamp 10ft to 20ft deep both jigs and minnow trolling. Ill be out there Saturday pulling some in.

See you there. Shout at the guy in the big Bennington pontoon - black pulling about 8 rods off the back.
