Family fish fry
The great crappie massacre of 2017. Had a fish fry for wife's side of the family. She has a huge family, so it takes a lot of crappie for ~40 people. 120 Nolin slabs did the trick. Great weather, great food, made for a nice fall afternoon. Had crappie, fries, hush pups, cole slaw, tater salad, fried tater cakes, mac & cheese, and chicken tenders. And desert was black berry cobbler, apple dumplings, chocolate lava cake, and vanilla ice cream to put on top of em. Everyone ate til they were stuffed. Fish must've been good, only a few pieces left, had just enough.

A lot of hard work goes into a meal for that many a folk! I’m sure it was appreciated! Congrats on a great day with the family!

Yes sir!! The second best part of crappie fishing is sharing! The first is catching!!!

Looks great. One of my favorite things is to cook crappie for my family.

Nice.... sharing does feel good
Heck I couldn't catch 120 keepers on Nolin in a year...... that lake kicks my butt, just can't figure it out.

Wish I could take credit for those fish, but my father in law caught em. I just cooked em... He catches em through out the year and puts em up for the big family fish fries. Sometimes myself or others throw in some fish, but he supplied all of em this time. His way of getting everyone together. Pretty smart old fellar. He fishes one pole in hand, either float or tight line. One of the best fishermen I know.
I'm seriously thinking about getting one of those Cajun fryers for next year. We have about 3 big family fish frys a year, and it takes forever to cook a bunch of fish in my 2 little basket fryers.
