When pulling cranks with weights, how long do you make the leader from the weight to the crank?
Where can I find 3oz weights? I have 2 oz torpedo weights.

Scott Vance (ScottV) sells them. That's where I got mine, you can just message him. I use a 3' leader with mine. Typically push rather than pull when using the weights

I use 3 oz weights and 4 ft leaders when pushing cranks.
I use a 3 way swivel with a 2 ft leader for the lure and foot leader for a bank sinker.
I run 3 ft of braid for leader. The reason for braid is to keep them cats from wrapping up and cutting mono. Lose more baits to them than hang ups.
Depending on how deep I’m fishing, I use the 3 or 4 oz ScottV weights. 4’s mostly. I use a 4’’’ leader with a roadrunner tied about 3’’’ up from the crank. Catch lots of fish on the jig!!

BRM is that rig legal in the COE lakes since the crank has 2 hooks on it?
Yes it’s legal. Only two BAITS (hooks) per pole. If a bait is manufactured with 3 treble hooks on it, by MS laws it’s a single bait. If you Add a hook to it, then it’s two hooks or baits. A crank is one bait and a Jig is one bait as long as you don’t add anything to either bait.

A Jig with a stinger hook is two hooks because you added the stinger. I was using two jigs with small treble stingers on them but found out I was illegal. I quit that ASAP. It works great when they hit it short tho. You can only use one Jig that way however. Adding a short stringer with a small treble also works great on a bait hook for short striking fish!!!!!
I got the stringer idea while bouncing 1-1.25 oz jigs in the TN river sauger fishing. Those jigs are MADE with the stringer on em.

Thanks for clearing that up. I will try it.
