Finally got all my supplies to start pouring. My first pour went pretty good after researching on Crappie.com, tons of good tips and advice on here. Poured 240 this afternoon. Now time to try the powder paint for the first time

Be careful to keep the heads clean before painting.
Oil residue will affect the painting process, especially if it is silicone-based. If you think they have been contaminated you can clean them in a jar of MEK. I would not suggest this with red hooks though as it will dissolve the outer coating which contains the red color.

I put them in zip lock bags when I was done so I don't think they got anything of them. I'll keep that in mind though. Thanks crappiedreamer

Nice work.
Use lead specific containers for finished jigs and to store your lead. Especially if you have children or pets around!
Wash your hands - often. Don't eat, drink, or smoke when you are pouring.

A piece of advice... clean out the eyes before baking, it's much easier than after. If you search here on CDC you will find many tips about that.
I use modified craft pliers and a piece of rubber to prevent most of the powder paint from even getting on the eye to begin with.
Yeah I didn't really think about that until I took them out of the toaster oven
