If you are single poling with a jig or 2, the best is the uncle bucks ultra lite.
There are many great rods out there but it depends on how you want fish. I like my Southern Crappie Rods. 12 footers with power pro braided line. That is just what I like.
Ain't no such thing .... there's so many different methods that one rod just can't be expected to handle them all, at least not very effectively, anyway. Narrow down your question to one particular method of fishing, and then we can discuss the matter. Even then you're going to get half a dozen different brands, lengths, power (because most people believe what they're using is the "best"). :twocents
I have no complaints on my southern crappie or b/m psts. If you are not trolling get the Southern's.
B n M 11 foot gig rod would be my choice, with Bass Pro Crappie Reel and Power Pro 15 lb braid. The way to go.
Pepper
I would pick a 6.5 ft medium Ugly Stick spinning rod. It will cast lures, bobber rigs, and good for dipping minnows right beside the boat (or as one beloved member calls it... vertical casting :notworthy). It is strong and plenty sensitive enough.
I do a lot of bobber fishing and vertical jigging. I have a 10 B&M right now but looking too buy a new rod and wanted to see what everybody likes. I have to say i like the B&M but the insert in the tip kept coming out in the tip so i tried to get warranty and they just sent me a replacement tip that wouldn't fit.
Pro Angler Tackle Rods
BnM Sam Heaton super sensitive...best single pole rod there is :popcorn
For Buckbrushin and super heavy cover B and M 12' Brushcutter. For casting Corks Andy's Crappie Company 2 piece 8', For trolling cranks Ozark pinnicles which are cheap but can handle 8lb cats to 25lb buffalo.
Check out the SouthernCrappie line of rods. He has several sizes. I fish his trolling poles and they are tough as nails and very sensitive. Big plus is Kevlar tips and pricing is more than competitive.
If it's just the tip eye guide that is missing the insert ... you can buy replacement tips & the glue in kits and replace that tip, yourself.
If it's the whole upper section that they sent you, that won't fit the handle end .... just remove both tip eyes and swap them out.
If you like BnM products, and you're looking for another 9-10ft rod for bobber/slip float fishing and vertical jigging ... my suggestion would be to consider BnM's Float/Fly rods : https://www.bnmpoles.com/p-45-tennes...t-and-fly.aspx
*Note : I was a field tester for BnM, on their first Float/Fly rod (8' with the balance weights in the handle) ... the Duckworth FnF rod. I love the rod for it's intended purpose, but if I were buying one today, it would be the 9 or 10ft model because of the longer handle.
The one in your hand. As is typical for a thread like this we all list our favorites. To be honest, the Crappie don't care. Man has been catching Crappie with hook and line for a long time, cane poles, and rods up to several hundred bucks. Take your pick and go fishing.
Thanks for your input. Has anyone used the Mr Crappie 12'?
I went to Florida this past winter and found vexan rods the have a 12 ft and and 8ft model. 12 foot ismkinda of heavy but still works on a light jig and will handle a big cat or a bass including an 18" peacock bass that hit crappie jig at boat. Impairmthat rod with Shinkansen sienna 2500. The Edith foot rod is lighter goes with sienna 1000 good for jigging and slip bobber. I also like b n m bucks ultra light the blue blank with cork handle 8'ft with 1000 sienna and 10 ft with 2500 sienna
The best crappie rod is the one your buddy is catching them on.in your boat lol

I have been using a Cabelas PTC 7'6" Light for a couple years for throwing twister tails, unfortunately it snapped last week and they are only offering that length in a UL now. They are on sale for $30.00. I just ordered a Denali Pryme 7'6" I'm going to give a try.
