Lol I tried last week. Barely stopped boat before it crashed into bridge. Lol
Didn't get mine stopped, on 7 on the speed control straight into a dang concrete piling

It weren't funny at all, good news was nothing was hurt seriously.
Good you were not hurt as well as nothing else was hurt. Never thought about it till now but I bet a trolling motor prop would cut a person up just like a outboard motor prop.
Glad no one was hurt.

So glad no one got hurt buddy. What was the damage. Appreciate you sharing the heads up.
As far as I can tell it shoved my plate back breaking the screw that locks in it place, had to drive it back forward to get it off the rub rail. Once I get it back home I will have to drive it back the other way to remove it and see about slicking it all back up. No damage to the motor itself that we can find or the boat itself.
Glad no one was hurt.
Glad no one or the boat was hurt but it would have made a good video.
Glad to hear no one was hurt and your equipment should be ok. Have to ask, where were you? No disrespect intended, just curious?

Sorry for the humor John. Was thinking no damage-no harm no foul. I shoulda got more info.
I suspect it will be kinda like some of those dumb motorcycle wrecks we used to have--Not funny at all when it happened but hiiliarious later. Glad you're ok.
Thanks for the info. Would have never thought about that. Glad you and your stuff are all right

The first time that happened to me I thought something was wrong with the trolling motor, and I guess there is, but the second time it dawned on me that the bridge might be blocking the signal. But my real question is, why the crap does it always go straight to high speed and straight toward the concrete? I mean both times it had a lot more area that wasn't concrete to head toward but no sir, it heads straight to the pilings.
I guess mine goes to 10 when it starts up the first time. I have to either think to turn it down before turning it on or be sure it is not pointed to the side or I have a good chance of getting wet. I have been real close a few times.
You guys need to all contact MinnKota.....the more that do the better....remember the squeeky wheel always gets the most grease
