I went to monroe yesterday with my boy to pick up his car from the shop with fuel pump problem. It was about 4 Pm when I came past Stowe Creek, No boats and the Lake was almost slick. stopped by Darbone Point cabins to look, with only two boats in sight I did not go to Jakes. I had taken equipment off my boat and put on Bro's as his was larger. His boat is now Gone and mine not put back togeather. I too have been wondering why there were not any Post other than those that are fishing wants fewer boats on the Lake. The water color is right and the Lake is at Pool stage.
I've been out on Cypress in Benton a few times in the last month. Pulling cranks every time. It's been slow for me. They seem to be scattered everywhere, but have done best following the creek channels. I just bought a new Ulterra and tried it out for a couple hours yesterday. Caught five before the sun set while learning how to work the features of the motor. Expect to see more posts from me soon as the cranking really gets good. Should be getting right here pretty soon.
Too much blankety-blank work to do right now on my job... :( I'm missing fishing so bad. But this year budget work in the current dept should be over before about the time it starts for the other dept I left, so I'm hoping to have more time on the lake this fall than I have in a long time. I think I'm gonna get the wife to sign a hall pass, then run off about 50 copies before she wises up. LOL :highfive
Maybe Adam can print some out for ya. He probably had to forge the one he used the other day.:biggrin
Been slow for me last two trips to the lake. Had a good august but September hasn't been good to me. They are letting Claiborne down so there is current in the bayou and that is usually where I spend September. This is a pic from my last trip. Just didn't catch too manyAttachment 275013

Here's some pics from this week dipping the brush in a oxbow. That first one went just under 1.5lb, the bite has been really light lately with the heat back on us. I managed to catch 15 Tue and 13 on Wed.

LaHolligan, I have the same Water Moccasin setup and use it for fishing, deer hunting and duck hunting. It's a good, stable platform.
Relocated back to the Shreveport area a little over a year ago from Gulf Shores. I searched for fishing reports and it is dead. Absolutely nothing almost like no one wants to give any info - secrets out to their fellow fishermen. This is the very way to pass on fishing to others to keep this sport alive. I will become more active on this great site bringing fishing reports and weather conditions in the surrounding areas. Cross, Wallace, Cypress, Red River as I get them I will share. Look forward to making new friends and reading others insights & posts.
Yesterday was one of those days on D'Arbonne the shinner was sucked off the hook while you held the pole. Most boats caught 5 to 15 fish. I could not put a single fish in the Boat
