Running the ulterra with the new spotloc feature
Yes sir
How's it wurkn. Any issues
Do they really hold within a three ft circle
Works great for me but keep in mind I haven't used it over brushpiles but use it when I'm unloading all the time. Came into Beach Point several weeks back and sent the boat back out in 2 foot waves and anchored it while I got the truck, when I got the trailer backed in she was right where I left, nose into 15 mph winds and holding.
Nice. Looks like I'll be stuck one more year of fishing with my riva boat but I can put some lipstick on that pig. An ulterra would make life nice.
Bama buy the Ultrex, and you can bolt the 360 right to it. Well with a bracket from BRM.

This is a personal opinion but there is no way I would give up my Ulterra for an Ultrex. Two reasons:
1) It is flat out in the way, I despise that big footpedal all in the way.
2) Self deploy and stow is the stuff, specially unloading and loading by yourself without a dock around. With a dock I do just like the commercial they put out when they were introducing them.
Like I said this is an opinion, not so much right or wrong but what works best for me.
Other thing is I absolutely love my 360 being on the transom, at idle I can check things out before ever shutting the motor down.
I want the self deploy option and have no interest in a foot pedal on my TM. Like Rees said its just something else in the way. I will not run a 360 on the jet boat . I pretty much want to be able to launch by my self using this method. And spot lock will be my prime usage over brush piles. If it will hold in a three ft circle I'll be innhawg heaven.
Itching to fish and try the new setup. Should be getting good before long with these cooler days.
Seen him do that but as much as Rees fishes I just thought his boat was just trained to do that.:Rofl
Does the ultera come in 24 volt?
Yep
Sure is scary, when you've seen several boats loading early because it wouldn't Stowe or deploy. I've personally seen and heard too much negative to make me want to risk buying one now. Durability isn't proven, to me just yet.

Had mine do it twice. Once unloading and it was a result of the first mishap, power wire came loose while deploying. I have the Gen 2 and am glad I had to wait on it.

I've used both the Ultera and the Ultrex. They are both very nice units. The self deploy and stow is extremely convenient when fishing alone or perhaps guiding. The new Spot Lock is fast and accurate on both units. I've been fishing lots of wood lately and with a partner to help launch, the Ultrex is the best thing out there as it allows you everything the Ultera does except the deploy/stow. I used the foot pedal on my Ultrex the last tourney I fished in Truman without ever touching the remote, even in open water. The foot pedal has all of the controls built on it, and when you need your hands in the wind or wood, it's the best there is. I used to never use my foot pedal with my Ultera or even my Terrova, but I'm here to tell ya, that was and is a Mistake!!! Thank You Kelly Capps for beating that foot pedal use back into me when we fished together at the ACT in Grenada!!!!!!

See guys I'm not a troller. I spot loc once then it's hands free for me. Until I move to another brush pile. Then it's one push of the button. Ulterra on the way. Should be an asset.
Love it when I slide my boat in and someone comes running to tell me I forgot to hook my rope up. Then I deploy my ulterra and they just stare.

I love my ultrex so far. The foot pedal is the ONLY reason I bought it. I have missed a decent foot pedal since I got rid of my maxxum years ago. This is the best of every world, except the auto stow and deploy. I've been fishing one time in 2017 by myself, so loading and unloading is not an issue I have. Ulterra is pretty cool for that though if you fish alone very often. The new spotlock is night and day difference than the one of old. That feature is the same on all of the ipilots though. Terrova, ultrex and ulterra

This ulterra is no doubt the cats meow. The only thing they should do different is put the boat scale info in the quick facts sheet. This remote is quite different from my old I pilot was. I drifted into a pier four times in a fife teen mph wind and had to push off and start the big motor before I finally called Rees guide for some guidance......... He was not sure which button launched the TM on the non touchscreen but knew to punch it twice. That was enough to get me started. After to trips out I have it dialed in.
glad I was able to help out a little bit man, you will love that thing, best tool in the boat!!
Ulterra is great till they malfunction
Especially if U fish in the winter mine froze up once and broke the motor
That stows and deploys .and one other time. Switched to the ultrex because of this

Ultrex was the best bang for my buck. That foot control is super sweet, it's a single polers or pushing man's dream. Nice to have those hands free while pushing off the front or jigging in cover. I forget where my remote is at most times the last couple weeks. Also, here in a few more weeks be nice to keep those hands in a pocket and not worry bout no remote. I have no problem deploying and stowing the TM, or launching and loading the boat, still consider myself lucky to be able to do both. I will try to do the work until my physical abilities say I can't no more, good to keep working IMO. I know you bought the Ulterra Bama and good luck to you sounds like it will suit you well. Just throwing in my two on the subject, good fishing to all and to all a good evening :cheers2
Good reviews from all angles. Just goes to show everybody has diff outlooks and needs
