We'll be out there pulling cranks in the morning then watching the fun. The lake was absolutely no worse than a typical weekend Sunday today. The two groups I had out today both had good fish and several. No confrontations with idiots either.
Bought plastic framed supposedly certified eclipse glasses several weeks ago. When I got them, there were no certification markings on them. Been battling some goofball from China ever since. Ordered NASA certified glasses from another vendor.
Bought two dozen in January. All are the approved glasses with the right code. Heading out later with my wife and 5 clients to view the eclipse. I'm gonna sit on a honey hole and drop a line during the two and a half minute blackout. Supposed to drop 10 degrees. Glasses are stylish too!!!

everyone's hollering about it being a once in a lifetime thing. REALLY ?? I saw one in '79 I saw the one Monday, and if I don't die before 7 years pass I'll see one in '24. I guess I'll have lived 3 lifetimes :Rofl
I think the hype was all about this one being a total eclipse & going across the entire country (West to East coasts).
You won't have to wait 7yrs either ... according to NASA : "After the August 2017 total solar eclipse, the next annular solar eclipse that can be seen in the continental United States will be on October 14, 2023 which will be visible from Northern California to Florida. Following this, we will have a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 visible from Texas to Maine." (copied from NASA webpage)
But, you'll still have to travel a ways to see the "totality" ... in either case.
you mean that's NOT all the way across the continental U.S. also I'd have to travel somewhere to see the TOTALITY wherever it is. If it was here I'd travel somewhere else to get away from that mad crowd like they had in Hop town. Can you imagine trying to leave there? :biggrin
Yes, the 2023 eclipse will be visible across the continental USA ... but, it's an "annular" eclipse, not a "total" eclipse.
I can imagine it being like 5PM traffic on all major highways, parkways, Interstate highways, and backroads :Rofl ... if everyone tried to leave at the same time (which is exactly what happened in the Hoptown area  )
