What tips do y'all have to block human scent? We use all kinds of scents on our baits but we are still transferring our scent to the bait. Anything from the food we eat to getting gas, the smell sticks with us and I think the fish can tell.

Tincture of Green Soap. A few drops with water is all that is needed to remove human scent.
SLABSAUCE Spray on Fish Attractant
Read the "True Story" part I included in the product description.
Fish like tobacco
Put the slabsauce on your hands to cover up your sent? Same thing for tobacco? Trying to get any advantage that I can, cause I need it.

95% of time I get gas on my way home. Absolutely guaranteed to get gas all over both hands and clothes filling up boat on way out. I use pro cure scents to cover smells.
One of the best days I have had I was fishing with minners and got gas all over my hands hooking up the gas line at the ramp.
I put a little lure flavor in the bubblegum scent on my hands sometimes after I fool around with the motor and drain plug and etc...... right when I launch....depends on if I think I need to not smell like something they don't like ,,,,LOL
I spray garlic scent into a sandwich bag and drop jig in every so often, dont have to get it on my hands at all.
I wash my hands with unscented soap then apply lure scent to my hands after I get in my boat and before I touch any baits.
I use scent killer spray, then raccoon urine as a cover scent, then Tinks 69 if the spawn is on.
Same for me. Right lure of the right size and action presented the right way - all I ever need.
The only scent that always deters the bite is that of stinky black or green, hair-like algae that you can smell on your fingers minutes after washing it off after removing it from the hook. PU! It probably leaves an odor trail that fish sense and chose to ignore the lure that has even a little bit stuck on it.
Dawn dish soap. I keep a small bottle in the boat. Rinse with lake water. They know lake water smell.
Simple, I stay downwind from the feesh [emoji12] [emoji23]

I spit on my bait.
Zip, zero, nada. Never worried about smell. I smoke, scratch my butt, and and any other place that itches. Never stopped the fish biting. Had this argument back in the 70's when I was fishing tourneys. Placed a bet with a guy that I could out fish him. I would put gas on my hands and he could use a scent blocker. For one week we had the comparison and I out fished him daily. He never used a scent blocker again. With all the different smells floating around in the water I don't think it makes a bit of difference.
If your concerned about smell buy a package of sterile gloves for a few bucks and use them than the next time don't use anything and see how your catch rates differ. You can a box of nitrate gloves for next to nothing and cheaper than any commercial scent blocker.
Cant believe nobody has mentioned crappie nibbles/bites. I can say they make a difference, i was fishing a dock when this guy and his kids roll up in a brand new boat, we fish side by side. I hadnt caught a fish in over a hour had changed colors and sizes and tactics of jigging (1/16 ball jig head with bg baby shad). Well he and his kids had minnow style jig heads same exact electric chicken glow baby shad plastic and that crappie nibble. Within minutes of us talking everyone in that boat was hooking up. I felt so ashamed haha anyway he tosses me this jar of nibbles i switch to a minnow jig head and throw on a nibble an within minutes i was catching fish.
Deer hunting I go to extreme measures to cover my scent. Fishing is a different matter. If the fish are that finicky I just hope the next trip is better. It really has more to do with the investment of time, energy, rarity of opportunity, and months of shooting arrows than anything else. I don't get up at three in the morning and drive a hundred miles to climb a tree in the dark and freeze for 6 hours when I go fishing.
Slab I ordered 2 bottles, but I never got a order ##. I paid with my PayPal account Jack Cerny
I checked Jack, I don't see any payment or even partial orders. If you see where you paid, please email info to me at [email protected] and I'll be certain to take care of it.
