Dont know for sure but son said it could have been a blown fuel line . Had front brake line fixed last week. Mechanic said that the other line from pump was rustex pretty bad and he wanted to replace it but had to order from Ford.Quote:

Man hate that happened. But your safe and like others posted. It can be replaced, but you would be hard to replace. Makes me think, my 99 F150 standard cab has only liability. The reason I asked about model and year is I've driven F-150s for most of my life (even had an F-100) and haven't known them to be prone to fires. I might suspect something got bumped or broken when your mechanic was doing the work under the hood. It will be hard to prove but your insurance company will be sure to ask.

Got new used truck this morning.
2004 gmc completely refurbished. Almost everything has been done to get this truck back up to prime.
