No contest. Lakemaster
LakeMaster for me by far. With the way Truman lake levels can go way up and down it is sure nice to be able to adjust the contours to get accurate depths with out guessing and trying to add or subtract for current lake level. I also like the shallow water highlight. I have mine set at 5'. Makes it easy to see where you need to steer clear of.

Do you know if you can adjust Nav? I just installed two new HDS7 gen 3 and was told to buy the nav. Hope I didn't make a mistake.
No adjustment on Navionics. LakeMaster chips are only compatible with Humminbird. Before I switched to Humminbird I had HDS units with Lake Insight. It was pretty good mapping for Truman lake and never got me in trouble when running new water.

Definitely Lakemaster, with the depth shading and being able to adjust depth contours to current lake level is a big plus, especially on Truman. One other thing I like about Lakemaster is that you can pull up any lake on the card in your driveway, kinda nice if going to a unfamiliar lake and want to get a look at before you get there, don't think you can do that with Nav.
I have a Lakemaster chip from my old boat that I'll make you a deal on. My new boat has Garmin and the chip is Humminbird only. PM me if interested.
I have the Navonics app on my phone and it allows you to change the depth contour to adjust for varying lake levels, so I wonder why the software chip doesn't allow it ?

You can preview the Navionics mapping online at the webapp https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=e...y=%7DlqhFztazP
I grew up on Truman and know the lake very well except for the upper pommie so I bought the lakemaster and really like it and it has all the lakes on it I plan to fish in texas........if the weather is this dam cold again next winter........this old man is heading south.......
Glad you like the LakeMaster chip Monty. I feel it is the only choice for mapping at least for the lakes I fish. I also have the navionics app for my phone to go to and scout for places and show people different places quickly.

Jared I was looking for the lakes I fish in Texas and think I will have to get the mid south chip to have them on it.....no biggie just another utility bill!!!
Monty I can loan you mine when you go down there. I bought it and only use one week each year. I will only need it for the first week of April when Lenny and I go down for Crappie Masters. Before and after then you are more than welcome to use mine.
That's mighty kind Jared, might take you up on that, I will be down there Jan and Feb if the weather is going to be cold here next year...................
I also had a lakemaster years ago in my humminbirds. I liked it a lot. My new rig has Garmins with preloaded lakes. I hope I like how they work, havent had a chance to get it out yet. If I end up not liking them I am probably going to call Brian up and get two HDS 9s for it.
If your getting it for a Humminbird you have to get Lakemaster! By far the best detail anyway.
Go to Navionics.com and the Chart Viewer, look at the SOnarChart layer by clicking on hte icon in the lower left Attachment 327088
I have the insight map card in my hook7. Seems to work ok

At the Lets Go Fishing show the Garmin rep said anyone that had a Garmin unit would be getting a free Navionics upgrade of the entire US lakes since Garmin now owns Navionics. I’m still waiting on my email for the upgrade.
