The ones I know do not frequent this site. They post on Facebook. Follow team Phillips or c&m guide service.
They are either not on here or don't want to share what they are doing. Sometimes when folks find out that people are catching fish somewhere they rush over there and an area can get overfished in a short time.
i dont mean they got to give the exact spot but a little info would help everybody out i will be giving info and pics of my trips
I don't believe there's anyone that fishes those lakes a lot. I have see some Jordan posts but they are mostly in the spring. To be honest there's not a lot of reports anywhere this time of year.

I fish Jordan, Coosa head waters above Jordan, and the Alabama River. Last few times I went to the Alabama River and the bite was tough. Managed just a few. If fishing he river, I would look where the feeder creeks enter the river on drop offs. I personally think the river is the better option this time of year because the current keeps the water temp down in comparison to Jordan, and the oxygen levels are better. The fish should respond better.

Fer gets bout John. He be fishing down there also
By all means, I'm not a professional crappie fisherman(it shows in the standings below, Lol). I have spent the past 4 weekends on lake Jordan, I have shot docks, trolled Arkies and have fished under green lights at night.
Total score thus far is:
12 catfish
1 fresh water drum
1 crappie
Welcome to c.c mikeslb !hag in their them fish will hide on ya in the heat of the summer you will figure them out 4 long .
Have you tried The Lightwood road bridge? There is deep water there and might hold fish. I've only fished it once and didn't have any luck but it seems a likely spot to try this time of year, especially at night.

Ok. I recently moved from Montgomery. It is very frustrating, trust me, to find friendly fisherman in this area. Not very many people, if any, will tell you their little honey hole spots. And it is very heartbreaking trying to find someone cool to become your new fishing partner that you can tag along with. It's not 1990 anymore, lol. Do not go to Lagoon Park - nothing but snakes. You can try Cooter's Pond, but I haven't been there since I was a teen. You could try Jackson Lake in Millbrook. It feeds off the river and has tons of Cyress trees. $5 to get in. I don't know if you are in a boat or not, but the Lightwood Bridge, you cannot fish from the bridge. You need to be in a boat. But if I find more spots, I'll let you know for sure! I moved to Calera and we have Lake Purdy, but I haven't been yet. I mainly fish from the Piers at Lay Lake. Now I will share this with you. If you go to Lay Lake, hit me up. I had a friend of mine with Game and Fish visit the area I fish per my request because AL Power pulled up all the brush a few years ago. They went out there last Friday and took depths and measurements. They dropped brush and PVC structures down back out there. And they are within casting distance from the shore.
I met someone and we go frequently top Guntersville Lake and Martin Lake and fish bridges over night. So that's where I have been going. I was going to get up Saturday morning and go to Guntersville.
This is getting unnecessarily off topic, and I apologize to everyone for propagating it.
No friendly fishermen in Montgomery... There are some very friendly crappie anglers in Montgomery and surrounding area; I know several - many in the club I am a member of. I've met many a boat out on the water and provided and received good information. Made a couple of friends this way over the past year.
Further, I don't know why any angler should feel obligated to reveal "their little honey hole spots." The found them through their efforts and why anyone should feel entitled to that information is beyond me.
That was taken out of context, yet again. That is why I hate text. I wasn't coming across in that manner. From my person experience living in this city for 10 years, I have met a lot of rude people in Montgomery. I have met some nice people too. That was one reason I left this city. I was referring to my personal experience alone. If I had a boat and was out on the water I'm sure I would meet nice folks too. The "honey hole" talk .. I mean not a lot of people feel the kindness to share good spots where they are biting like they did growing up. People are sooooo protective over spots that is public, and really don't care if you eat or not. I don't mind sharing spots, but that's just me. This is my personal experience, but when I ask people and they tell me a spot, it is a dead spot 9 out 10. So I search Google Earth Pro and I use the back scale history to find structures. I was simply trying to help him out. The truth hurts sometimes. Best of luck to you, Paul.
see there you go jumping to conclusions with out reading the whole thread no body said they wanted honey hole info was referring to general info such as water depth maybe if it was cover or drop offs and whether live or jigs like look at the north al folks they tell things like caught 8 ft in 10 to 15 fow on chartreuse tipped jig
Paul, go fishing and hope you catch some. Looking forward to your report.
Okay. Best bet that I know of personally and people are telling me where we fish, which is Guntersville, is 10-15 ft in 20-30 ft of water. We mainly fish at night because by 8am it is 90 degrees. I also have FB friends who live on Guntersville telling me they go at night from the banks under the bridges (69,431 and 227) and are catching Crappie 10-15 ft with minnows. A lot of success you may also get is to use a pink head with a monkey milk or pearl color baby shad. But you can look for brush or try the bridges. I had a few nice recent catches in Guntersville at 10ft sitting in 30 ft of water using minnows. As for Montgomery ... I don't fish the AL River. But if you look on fishidy's web app, you can see where people are posting spots and catches around Montgomery.
Good luck.
