Good morning crappie fishing with Minnow Mind'R lures 7/14/2017
My friend, Ricky and I got an early morning start so that we could be the heat. We did and had a great 3 hours of fishing. We caught 32 keeper crappie, all released, 5 bass and 1 bluegill. We just received an order of Minnow Mind'Rs from Crappietown.com and were anxious to try them. They worked very well this morning.
We fished mainly off shore structure with 3/32 and 1/16 oz jigs and tried different colors and they all seemed to work just fine. Betty Rutledge of Crappietown sent me a few samples along with our order and I had one Lightning Bug MM and when I put it on, it seemed that the crappie raced to get that lure. My first cast with it produced a 14" White crappie and I caught several more before losing the jig on a stump. Groan.
Water temp this morning when we started was 82.6 and I'm sure will rise into the mid 80's before night fall. Very little flow and the wind didn't get up until around 9:00 AM. We quit fishing at 9:15. Our first limit by 7:39 and the 32nd keeper at 9:05 when we decided to call it a morning. Sun was getting hot and we had had enough of the good times. Grin. But, we only took one pic and it was of the 14" White crappie.
