Which one would you recommend ? Getting to hot !
Mustad,Bass Pro,Cabelas, and more and more.To me they seem about the same with only slightly different features.Auto/manual operation ...I have been using a automatic Cabelas several years and it's alright.Cooler, more unrestricted than normal vests. You are supposed to replace bobbin that dissolves when it gets wet and deploys every couple years.
You will enjoy using it I am sure.

Kits are $14 on Amazon, don't let the auto get wet! Mine went off in the storage locker because of a rain shower!

Humidity will set the automatics off in one to two years while in your boat storage or utility shed. About thirty dollars to
rearm them. Also, they do not count as a life jacket in your boat unless you are wearing it. I went to manual after problems
with the automatics. The negative side of that is going out of the boat unconscious. Both are much more comfortable than
the conventional ones and a lot cooler.
Be sure to have a regular one in the boat, if you are not wearing the auto inflate it does not count.
Do the auto 's have both manual/auto capabilities ? The manual inflates only if you are conscious enough to pull cord ?
Auto/Manual is just as stated. Will inflate auto or manually.
The auto feature works when the bobbin gets wet /dissolves and sets off a firing pin that punctures the air cylinder. The vest I have has been used 6-7 years and has never accidentally inflated. It has seen heavy rain several times and when it gets wet I dry it out in the truck or camp. The comment about Amazon being the place to buy rearm kits, bobbins,or cylinders is dead on.I bought 3 sets and have never had to use them. It would be hard to go back to wearing a conventional jacket but do carry them in the boat.
I seen a video about two game warden's that hit a log on a lake, and threw both of them out of the boat. Both warden's had the auto inflatable's on, but only one opened up. I don't have one, and won't buy one, I know my regular vest will work, you hope the other will...jmo....:twocents
The cylinders are only good for 5 years. Be careful.

The vest I bought were between '91 and '04, can't remember when. I thought there was a time limit on the cylinders, no date on them. So I checked the vest deploying the cylinders last year. They worked fine.
I have a Cabelas.

Buy the best model you can..key words would be "life vest"
I bought two, and whoever else gets in the boat gets to use the spare... I really forget that I have one on...
FYI. The inflatable life vests must be worn at all times while you're on the water according to the law. You can take them off if you have a regular life jacket onboard.
