I have a doit mold that has swivels on both ends of the sinker. Is this just as good ?
Tman53 ,
You can cast them w/ 1 or 2 # 5 crane swivels or however you want them.I like 2.It's whatever you want...
You'll get a better bond between the lead and brass with an eye with less heat than with a swivel.
The brass eye is a requirement...The # 5 crane is cast in the eye......
I think what Tman53 has is called Trolling sinker, it's made to use swivels. I have the Inline Trolling Sinker, it's made to use eyes.

Tman53, what mold do you have?
To insure that the swivel doesn't pull out you could form light wire with a board and 2 brads that would hook into both swivels. Finished wire would look like a spent staple.

I have both sizes of the trolling sinker mild
Do-it mold # INT-3-234B....Is the 2,3,4 ounce trolling sinker mold....Once again I like #5 crane swivels on both ends of the weight cast into the eye.Exactly the same as the one in the picture above except crane swivels on both ends.
My molds calls for size 7 crane swivels. I usually use spro swivel they are a step above the rest
I have the INT-4-AB, it was in a large box of molds without handles I bought. Some I have cast with the eye. Some I have cast with the eye and swivel. Some I have cast with the eye and snap swivel.

Sz: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 I have this size too I use it pushing minnow
The ones I cast with the snap swivel on the bottom can be hooked to the bait without a leader. I hang them by the snap, tape over the the other brass fitting then give them a few coats of spray paint, colors vary. I haven't done any with more than one color of paint yet. Let them hang outdoors for a week to cure. It makes the bait look double, larger or the bait is chasing something.
