Cool Video.
I am not saying any of your fish are short, but I would hate for someone to get a ticket for a short fish due to incorrect measuring. This is just a friendly FYI.
How to Measure a Freshwater Fish
From the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division Fishing Regulations
1.Place the fish on its side with the jaw closed.
2.Squeeze the tail fin lobes together.
3.Measure in a straight line from the tip of the snout to the extreme tip of the tail.
4.You must release all fish shorter than the minimum length indicated for that species.
yep, you don't get to pull that bottom lip out like you were doing and measure. when you close the mouth and measure legally, the fish will be 1/4-1/2" shorter. that can be some healthy fines when you get visited by the wardens. they won't care that you claim you didn't know you had to close the mouth and pinch the tail.
they also won't care that the spider-man "thought" they all looked legal. just saying.....
Since when has there been a length limit in Ga!

Like I said it is a FYI on how to measure a fish. I know there is no length limit for crappie in GA, but there are for other fish. I also know that a lot of other states have length limits on crappie and I also know that many members on the board travel to other states to fish. It never hurts to know the correct way to do something. I was being done incorrectly in the video.
Knowledge is power and ignorance is bliss.
Keep up the good work Hotwater! I enjoy your reports and video.
Great videos!!!!! I checked the others on You tube and I was impressed with the quality of the average size of the fish. Where I live the top lake in va is Kerr reservoir. On this lake their are no limits on size or length. Most Crappie fishermen let the small ones go to get bigger. Great report as always!!!!!:highfive
Great video as always.
some from Ga go to Fla where some lakes has a length limit like Talquin and are very strict on it .
I haven't seen a Ranger on a Georgia lake in 15 years. I hate to say it, but I don't think nobody has much to worry about but their conscience. I wish there was more Rangers.
they checked the last boat i bought last year when i came in to the landing they said i was making a wake in a no wake zone i barley had in in gear i thought maybe it was my wife in the back it is a stick staring :yikes. they were on the bank wit bernocklers looking over the water for boating violations . they can get the # off your boat and send you a citation . witnessed one met a sky do driver at the ramp chewed hem out and gave hem a ticket for playing to close to other boats . they just don`t have enough wardens out there . got 2 fishermen using a shocking devise up the flint not long ago $400.00 per person . the other county on the other side of the river it is $800.00 .
Thank you hotwater for taking the time to record and share with the crappie. Com community.
As far as rangers, i usually see them about twice a year on average at the hill. One ranger admitted that they are way understaffed. They are out a lot on calls. See them usually around holidays.
