I finally had some time to tryout some supplies from Skip.
Not as pretty as others I've seen on the forum but fun to make!

Nice colors and nice ties.
They look like crappie catching jigs to me. You should also try Chart/Blue/Chart for sure and of course Chart/Black.Chart!

So what is special about saltwater hackle and what's the difference? I can't see any difference. All this stuff is new to me.
Like the color patterns
SW Neck Hackle is longer and wider/webbier and Hareline has the best that I ever found so it is what I use. So the method I use for tails is the tip with the little V's and using this Hackle you get more V's form each feather. However the down side is it cost most, but most guys once they get some want to stay with using it! That says a lot right there and also using feathers from guys that do a better job of their dye work and just sell better quality makes more st just like it better. They don't have as many colors as the shorter brother to the SW Hackle, but it's a lot nicer to tie with. It's one of the things one has to experience to really see the difference.Quote:

Only caught one legal fish (9" min in Ohio). This one was 10.5". Caught on Ch/Blue/Ch in about 2.5FOW.

I tried mixing in some different colors tonight.

I didn't have any blue SW hackle, but I did have some blue marabou. I tried combining it with hackle on the one in the lower right but I don't like the results.
Lower left ones have a silver-gray neck hackle mixed in with pink.
Upper left ones have purple and chartreuse mix tails.
You can't tell from the picture but I added a top coat of UV blast to this set of jig heads.
Just a few more PP and SW neck hackle colors and my obsession can go to the next level...
