Well last week was my kids spring break so we decided to spend the week up at Grenada. I fished Monday thru Saturday on the big muddy. I fished all over the lake from day light till 4ish everyday. I caught 20 keepers the entire week, although I threw them all back! Yesterday spent the day on the Rez and slap wore them out! Caught the largest black stripe crappie I have ever seen.

Weird how they never come to Barnett. Higher limit (30), you can keep a 11 1/2" fish and we catch some real good 1 1/2 - 2 pound fish year in and year out. Fine with me though, we got enough folks fishing there. Bet I had 50 boats in my sight Sunday mid morning
It's that 100 mile stretch of I-55 between Grenada and Jackson I can't stand. Lol, I worked for a company years ago who had a Memphis branch and a Jackson branch, every week Memphis would have to run Jackson something. I could have gotten an 8 hour day driving, but I would say nope, put me to work doing anything besides driving. Good thing we had a few layabouts who rather do that than actual work. I would take 8 hours of shoveling crap over that round trip :dono

Very nice catch MS Slab and very true about the comparison between the two lakes. The one reason The Rez will never be as popular as Grenada is that it requires you to learn how and where to catch the quality fish, instead of just following the crowds

Great catch, she is a beauty of a lake! I have to agree with Feesh too. You can catch a cooler full following the crowds but you can also find out why they call it the dink hole. It does take some research to consistently find quality fish but with so much offshore structure such as humps, ledges, stump flats, and old lake beds there are plenty of options to try. Barnett will make you learn how to use your electronics for sure, but I don't think there is another lake in the state that offers a chance to consistently catch boatloads of 1.5-2.5lb fish wth a legitimate chance at a 3lbder and be able to do it using any method that suits your fancy. I bet she has the strongest spawn rate year in and year out than most lakes in the country.

The Rez gets more year round pressure than any lake in the state. You are correct about the strongest spawn of all the lakes.
