We actually brought the lake early this year due to the early warming. The lake has been at or near summer pool (263.0) for almost a month. It is currently right at 263.0.
I wish it were that easy!

I agree bring this thing up just have your companion on stand by D10 in case a major rain hits
lake conway has more than enough water in it at all times for the fish, so why are the humans the ones always whining about putting more water in :Rofl :popcorn
I know D10...i actually live on the lake so I know me and the wife sure do appreciate everything you do to keep us from floating away
Not to mention higher survival rates to fry.
How difficult is it to tight line spider rigging the Gold Creek area or is it just a mess waiting to happen without using floats?
Single pole or casting a cork would be your best bet in my opinion, if you are going to try to fish shallow for spawners.
Thanks again Guru. I just picked up 4 new 12' poles and a holder. Would like to try it out, but want to actually bring some numbers home. Do you think I should just go back to the river or try Brewer, Lake Conway, etc? It is still pre-spawn in these areas correct?
I have fished brewer, but with limited success, 10 or 12 a trip pretty open body of water and wind creates a challenge at times, the river is not my cup of tea due to lack of effort to learn it. But most areas are still prespawn here in the central area of the state, however its fixing to happen fast. If your a resident of faulkner county, Lake beaver fork has crappie and to the best of my knowledge get relativly light fishing pressure. If your not a resident it cost to much to launch there.
Struck out at Lake Conway, just small bass wearing you out and robbing minnows, but went to toad suck around noon. Ended up bringing 10 keepers home, but nothing of real size. You don't even need to start your engine, just troll about 100 yards form the boat ramp.
