I use a big Napa Marine batt but don't recommend it, have had it replaced the last 2 springs
A good group 24 marine cranking/ trolling should work just fine. Think Academy sells a Exide like that for a pretty good price.
I personally won't run less than a Series 27 for cranking, Series 29 if I have the room.
Academy In Tupelo has the Exide Stowaway Dual purpose marine batterys , the group 27 is just under 90 bucks.
I just bought 2 Exide marine batteries from Academe............group 31's at 109.99. The reviews seem good, and thought I'll try them. You could use a group 27 or 24, but if you have the room, I would rather the bigger battery. On my Skeeter, I have 4 group 31's that I bought from Oreilly's last year. They were 89.99 I think, and I've used them a few times so far with no problems.
31 series AGM cranker.

Deka marine 27, going on 9 years on cranking battery. Had to replace tm and ff battery 2 years ago it was the same as my cranking battery. Keep thinking I need to replace that cranking battery since 2015 now... lol
Saw a promo for lithium batteries vs traditional lead/acid batteries. I'm sure they are very expensive. They had a single battery that produced 36 volts and you could pick it up easily with one hand. They require a special charger and claimed they would last ten years. I know it's probably way too expensive right now but it looks to me like they may be in our near future. Just like satellite tv, flat screens, and LED lighting, everything gets less expensive as it is improved and produced for the masses.

I may just be lucky but I got the cheapo from walmart 6 years ago and it is still going strong! I'm sure it will bite the dust now that I have said something but it has been a dang good one.
The lithiums are nice until they catch fire :)

Funny you say that, last 2 vehicles I've bought I purchased the extended warranty. First time I've ever done that, but with so many expensive electronics, sensors and such I feel it is worth it. Heck, my wife's head lamps went out and according to the manual we are supposed to take the front bumper cap off just to replace a bulb.

That's what I was thinking on the batteries. Don't mind paying more for better longevity and less maintenance. As for as the my new rig, it was ready the week I bought it, done made six or seven trips in it now. It sure feels good to be back on the water.

I've been using Optima AGMs for years on everything. Tractors, truck, wife's car, and Especially on a boat. Never leaks toxic acid because it is sealed. I'm sure there are some others as good or better, but optima is the only battery we've had so far that will continually crank these old , diesel tractors in cold weather. Mine have performed well on the water also. They have made a believer out of me. I would recommend running at least 2 batteries. 1 for cranking motor only, and another for accessories. Unless you want to get broke down a long ways from the truck from a drained battery that's to weak to start outboard.
Add a golf cart battery. It'll do you proud.

The Dura last AGM's will last for you for years- A 27 will do fine for your setup. The Exide 27 wet battery will do it to, butbe careful on size n either. Some battery compartments are a little small for the bigger ones.
