Matt, this may be a silly request, but would you mind going through the progression of the spawn in a little detail? Is it all dependent on the water temp, and what is that temp? Thank you in advance.

Not a silly question at all. Here is a link to a good article from a biologist in Tennessee explaining crappie behavior in a Tennessee lake. We have not conducted a study like this with crappie in Arkansas but I sure would like too in Lake Conway. A lot of the info he gives could be applied to a lot of our lakes here in Arkansas. If/when I get to conduct a telemetry study on Lake Conway's crappie, I will report the results.

Thanks for the reply, but it says "page unavailable".
That's strange. When I click on the link on my phone, it works.
I guess I don't really know how to paste a link into the response. I tried two different ways and it didn't work. Google "crappie spawn arkansas". The link is from Outdoor Life Magazine and the article is titled Crappie by Degrees.
I clicked the link that says "page not available" and the article came up.
Good deal. That's how it worked for me too.
works fine on my ipad. :cheers2
it worked for me...really great information....thanks matt
Awesome article. But I've always wondered if the temperature they talk about is surface temperature like your graph reads or if it's deeper?
It worked on mine
