isn't using game fish as bait illegal in some places ??
That's a neat video.
Crappie works as great bait for the in-laws and just about any other family.:yikes
In Indiana...From DNR website... Any legally-caught fish may be used as bait. However, it is illegal to use live carp or gizzard shad for bait. However, live shad are allowed at to be used as bait at Brookville Reservoir, Cecil M. Harden Reservoir, Monroe Reservoir, Patoka Reservoir, Lake Freeman, Lake Shafer, Hardy Lake and the Ohio River mainstream, excluding all embayments. Live goldfish are legal baitfish.
can't believe the bass could swallow a crappie that big.
cant use them in texas but for sure the slime works on a feather jig ....
big crappie too! i caught big bluegill once and let my 8 year old son have pole to play it, big bass came up and grabbed gill and he brought him in. still highlight of his fishing life and he is 36 now.
I find Crappie in bigger Crappie's bellies . Fish are not selective feeders but opportunistic , first thing around if they are hungry.
illegal in MO. to use any part of game fish for bait. MDC cannot tell if the fish was legal size before placed on line. can use bluegill on trout lines and limb lines. but it looks like that picture is ok because he was not fishing with it. Stuff happens. I once hooked a large bass when it struck the strike indacator and got hooked on the crappie hook. looked all over for a red and white crank bait:Rofl
