Nice Cowboy. You need to host a fish fry to your Alabama C.C brethren before your freezer gives up the ghost.
Haven't been keeping any for myself, been giving away, or letting them go.
I give em away or turn loose too after I filet about 300 of em! :Rofl
Good job man!
I'm in that group that really likes to eat them. We don't keep every crappie we catch.. LOL we don't catch that many. Still haven't logged a limit of nice keepers yet. I have a self-imposed slot. We only keep fish at least 10" and will not keep a fish over three lbs. Haven't had to exercise the upper limit yet..haha.
Good report Cowboy
@Jon doe, biggest this winter was 2.13, and back in she went.
You are exercising your right and I respect that. A 2.13 fish would likely end up in my live well and eventually on a plate. When my freezer is full enough to my standards, I release fish like that.
I release bass even though I like to catch them. They don't appeal to my appetite.
I have found out threw my cat scans, due to my multiple sclerosis ,that the dye they use is made from shell fish, and I'm allergic to it. The older I get the less fish I'm able to eat, it's starting to make me sick when I eat more then 3-4 pieces. Just hope I don't get allergic as my niece, if she's even touch's a fish she is in the hospital.
Cowboy - that is terrible. And now I understand why you either give them away or set them back. Fish in general and crappie specifically is my favorite food
:hesaid
Great job CB, you sure seem to have them dialed in down there.
