Went to Brookeville fished north end caught about 18. 7-8fow about 5ft deep water temp was @40. seem to be better bite in morning. Talk to another guy said he had his limit. Most fish caught was over 10 inch all on minnows. FYI if you put in @ Fairfield be careful don't go to deep.
Any word on the walleye bite?

I did lose one on minnow and seen a couple boats that looked like they were walleye fishin but I can't say for sure.Quote:

Attachment 259427Attachment 259428 Found them Wednesday and spider rigged up a limit on Jigs tipped with minnows and plain minnows. Fish were in twelve feet of water and active fish were up the drop in the shallow water. Fished from quakertown ramp southward. Be careful on that ramp we did get one wheel of the end of ramp on Sunday. Some of these fish had 2 inch shad in their stomachs and they seemed to prefer plain minnow rigs. Water temp was 49.

Issues at winter pool. At quakertown last week a few guys dropped
their trailers off the end. The docks and rocks suck at bonwell. And I have
Seen a few 4x4's that needed snorkels at Fairfield.

Fished Brookville Thursday 3/9 Spider rigging 12 ft up to 8 ft took a limit in about 4 hours and threw back some smalls but not many. Bite was Kinda lite any color jig and minnow combination seemed to work 1/16 - 1/32 and plain minnows also. Larger curly tail type jigs have not seemed to work for me yet. Seemed to be relating to breaks in depth and submerged structure. Had a guy fishing near me using cork and minnows doing VERY WELL also,he was fishing submerged brush right of the bank in about 8-10 ft. Water temp was measured as high as 52 degrees.Bite was good until wind picked up about 1:00 and boat control became an issue.Speed varied average about .3 Gonna pull the trigger on a new Terrova or Ulterra trolling motor so I can get better control of boat and trolling speed. This twelve volt motor just doesn't hold up to much wind.

No Dave the lake rose 2 feet after the rain we had and they lowered it a few days later.
They usually don't close the gates on the dam till April 15th.

Attachment 261270Found some dandys today Fish were in 12 - 15 ft and near submerged brush or near the bottom. Spider rigging double 1/32 OZ and 1/16 0z tipped with minnows. Water temp dropped to 40 - 42. Plain 1/32 oz chartreuse jigs tipped with minnows were best. No dinks yet this year!

Green chartreuse 1/32 oz jig head tipped with minnows out producing anything else. Pushing jigs from .2 - .4 4-12 ft deep in 8 - 15 ft of water

Dave thats the difference between spring fed and river fed I guess. Are you having any luck on Summit. I was told the Perch were biting GOOD. Brookville is now up 3 feet above winter pool and I hear that there is a good Walleye bite in the river and large numbers being caught.
Crappie have spread out into shallower water 4- 10 ft caught fish all day Friday pushing minnows,plain and on bare jig heads. If you are after Walleye now is the time fish from the bank out to 9 ft,bass fisherman are complaining about catching walleye lol. Life is Good!
