Some goodens
I hope this is ok, I didn't want to start a new post on the same topic,
are there any good hotels or someplace to rent for 5 or 6 days? Nothing fancy needed. I have my Mountian Feist, Oliver with me, he's my best friend, and my good friend Brian will be coming also.
Do I need a guide for a day? planning for the last week in feb
I'm setup to pull or push or anything else
as always thank you all
LOL sorry lake Washington and new date will be from the 12th to the 18th being as there will be tourney's going on after this date
Google towns near Lake Washington, Glenn Allen or Chatham. Or nearest hotels to either.
You will soon find out that there isn't much there except 2 mom and pop "cabin" style "resorts". Roy's and Bait n Thangs.
Nearest restaurants are 25 miles north in Greenville, MS. Unless something has been built in the past 12 months. Cell reception is medium at best, and 4G hasn't been invented down there yet Lol!!
It's the perfect place to get away!! We love it, and leave in 25 days!!
Good luck.

Farmers Grocery in Grace MS. is 10 miles south of the lake on Hwy 1. Good eats, etc. NO ROOMS
Roy's Store has cabins. Best around the lake. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and early dinner.
Thanks bandchaser
BRM do you know the phone # for Roy's by chance ?
No cell service, Nothing to do in the area other than fish and rest.........Sounds like heaven to me!!!!
Thanks Big River
Roy's Cabin policy is no pets. See lots of pets there tho.
Plainly says no pets.. I guess it depends on their mood...long way to go to lose your room...with no other place to stay
If your dog fishes with you they consider it a Partner. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Just ask when you reserve your cabin. They might make a few exceptions. All they can do is say no.
I have seen lots of pets that are better mannered than their owners. Probably the big thing is the poop problem...Some folks don't seem to think they should clean up after their pets..Makes it hard on the rest of us. When I used to train retrievers. Mine would be seen, and not heard..took them everywhere..I would call...before bringing one..I really hate leaving mine at home
Are there any public ramps on Washington. I know there is one at Baits and Thangs, didnt know if it was public or private.
Several that are pay ramps, BaitNThangs, Cordells. Think the one at Glenn Allen is a public ramp no charge and the one at the park at the south end is too.
Thanks guys for all the info but we won't be making the trip this year, he goes back to work in the morning.
I might be down the middle of March
as always, thank you all for your help
Glenn Allen is no charge
I've got a miniature schnauzer named Reagan. He goes where I go anbd is my fishing buddy. I want to go to Washington but when I saw no pets I decided not to go. Reagan does not board well.
That is the policy posted at Roys...you might can bring them somewhere else.. I don't. Know the Bait and Things policy.. Make a few phone calls before you give up
Thinking about going this weekend. But have never been to LW other than a drive by.

Fishing Lake Washington can be an awesome experience or it can leave you humbled and licking your wounds. The entire Mississippi delta area is a very unique place. Lots of places with limited cell service and hard scrabble amenities. There are limited areas of decent places to eat and stay, but if you are willing to travel and listen to the locals, some gems are to be found.

Were you trolling? I have never been down there . I was planning on coming down Friday but they are saying high wind and I know nothing about that lake .

wind will be high, if you have a good spider rig setup or can longline you'll be ok. Just look for the boats. I would put in at southern star, easy access and good safe place to park. Worth paying a little bit. I will be out there Saturday. Expect it to be rough

Reviving an old post to see how fishing Washington has been lately. A buddy and I are looking at heading down to Mississippi tomorrow. We are still deciding on where to fish. Leaning toward Washington Saturday.
