Asking for a little help or advice

Hey guys..

I am new here and I'm just trying to get a little advice..

I use to fish 2 or 3 times a week but with work, life, etc I have been out of the game for about 10 years or so..

I have missed it a great deal so I decided to buy a boat & start fishin' again.. I bought an older aluminum 16 foot bass boat.

I guess my home lake is going to be Cedar Creek, since I can be on the water in about 30 minutes from home. I want to fish Taylorsville as well. I have fished both of these lakes in the past but it's been a good while..

Can anyone give me any advice on fishin' Cedar & Taylorsville for crappie this time of year?

Any advice or pointers will be greatly appreciated..

Best advice I can give you on Taylorsville is .... get there early, fish the blowdowns, fish the banks that stay shaded throughout most of the day, start shallow and work your way deep. I've also noticed that the Crappie seem to like blue/char tubes &/or pink marabou Roadrunners. (& so do the Bass ;) )

And if you've been "out of the game" for the last 10yrs or so ... you're going to be pleasantly surprised at the size of Crappie that are now roaming the water of Taylorsville Lake. The last couple of years have been awesome for size. We've gotten into many 12-14" fish, and hope to repeat that during this coming year.
