Put our yo's out about 3 yesterday afternoon. Caught one pretty quick, then after that, nothing until dark. We had 7 when we quit, got up this morning and had 5 more.

nice fish. yo yo's are fun. everything is calm, then you hear that "click....whizz" and you never know what you might have!
Yo-Yo's? Heard the term before, but for crappie fishing? How do they work?!?
nice catch. How many yo-yo's did you have out and how deep. And what part of the lake were you fishin?
Hope to get a trip down there soon when they move up a bit.
They are spring loaded devices that hold a line and wind it up when triped. When a fish pulls it releases the sprimg and it reels up the fish. People tie them to limbs over the water ,bait the hook ,pull out proper amount of line , and set the trigger. Then it's all up to the fish. Some states have special regulations on use if they are allowed at all.:DQuote:

nice job guys! big ol slabs.
Nice looking mess of fish there Branthill.
Nice catch! My bro-in-law has caught a lot of good crappie with yo-yo's lately. And bass and cats. Also gets a bunch of grinnel (sp? Not sure what those are, but he says they're not fun to get off of a line.) And those big mud-puppy things. Definitely an interesting way to fish.
Nice Catch. The only thing missin' is the thump on the end of the line. Sorta like spider riggin'. Works great, but you miss that Patented Crappie Thump.
Keep up the good work.
