Gator Brown's on summer?

Tadpole's in Hernando, closest I know of.
All the old bait shops we used when I was a kid have closed.
Sam's Bait Shop on Jackson, just south of 240. 386-7711 Have not been by there in a few years, persume they are still open.
I love Gator Brown's. They are less than 5 minutes from my house and I was able to get my daughter to start going fishing with me because she loves going to get minnows at Gator Brown's and seeing the dancing parrot. The two guys who run it are super nice, last time we were in there my daughter took an interest in some plastics they had on the counter marked way down and one of the guys grabbed a couple and just gave them to her. I offered to pay for them and they wouldn't take my money.
Gator Brown's Bait & Tackle - Gator Brown's Bait and Tackle | Memphis, TN
6816 Summer Ave
It's on Summer a little south of Stage road just outside of Bartlett. If you know where the Tracker boat center is on summer, its a little north of there on the other side of the road.
Gator Brown is a good guy!!!
FYI, both sides of Summer in this area are actually in Bartlett.
there use to be a bait shop on 51 hyw on the south end of frayser. i think it sat behind a bar b q joint and hi speed electric...have not been out that way in years.
I have plenty if u need some. I order from Anderson over in Loanoke

I guess that's settled. No bait shops in Memphis, just in the surrounding area. Build a holding tank like some of us have and order what you need.
"It has moved to the very end of Watkins close to Shelby Forest State Park." Map search shows Watkins ends at hwy 51.
? Dead-ends at Locke-Cuba rd

In the gas station? I didn't know they had minnows there, can you get a lake permit for Poplar Tree there too? I always got my minnows and permit at the old General Store when heading to Poplar Tree lake to fish. If you can get minnows and permit at that gas station, I'll never set foot in the old General Store again, can't stand the guy who has been running it for the last 10-15 years. He was trying to sell it for a while, he may have sold it by now and somebody else may be running it but if it is the same guy who has owned it for the last 15 years or so I'd be glad to not have any reason to go there any more.
Gator is not open every day during winter but they are open some, give them a call and get days and times.
I know they are never open on Tuesdays no matter what time of the year. I think they go fishing on Tuesdays.
