Just got done collecting Christmas trees, and have concrete setting in 8 blocks, and 2 100 pound 2 1/2' by 2 1/2' boxes made with 3 trees in each on a forty five degree angle, for some standing trees. Going to get back to a little fishing tomorrow, concrete won't be set .
Going Friday
Hopefully I'll be off work fridayand can go try a couple new places
Good luck to y'all.
Going this weekend. Rented a cabin at Lake Talquin Lodge and hopefully the crappie will cooperate.
Last trip for me was on the 28th and did OK in the morning. The fish would bite for a little while an go cold - just quit. They would start biting again for while and quit like you flipped a switch. Managed 9 keepers - on was a real good fish.
I know I would like to see a picture or two of the 2.5'x2.5' setup. That sounds like a winner.
While you picked up like 95 trees, I found two on the side of the road and was given one by huntersdad. I am thinking of sinking them in old painters buckets i have in my garage with quickcrete.
I want to put them in my "home" lake at Fort Rucker and still trying to decide where. I figure the summer will be the best time to fish on them so sinking them in about 15 FOW close to the creek channel is best - as far away from the bank as I can figure out so they are harder to find. Of course, I will share the lat/long with huntersdad.
Work, moving, work, moving. No excuse. I'll try harder.
Spaceman, upgrade?
Work same. House smaller. Garage bigger. Might be considered an upgrade.
As long as you folks are happy:) God Bless
I'll be looking for some Crappie this weekend, freezers almost empty!
I 'll post pics of my standing trees , and my A frame pallet set up with trees on Friday, want the concrete to set and pull form. I 'll also show you guys my forms for cain.
Would like to see for future reference cowboy.
I usually put in at Coes landing and fish around the "iron curtain" it looks like you would rack up on crappie there.Best of luck to ya and hope you come back with a boatload.
Just off Coes landing which is off state road 20 turn on Coes landing roadis a line of cypress trees and that is what is called the iron curtain and it has the main river channel running right in front of it.
Follow Coes landing road it will dead end at a boat launch if you look it up on Google earth it will show up pretty good,or ask some people on the Florida /Georgia forumns
old road bed?
My apologies to the thread starter I did not mean to hijack your thread

Deer season has me tied up. As soon as it's over I'll be after the crappie hard!
