Looks like you have a good chance of getting interferance from the lower unit ...you will just have to remember to trim your motor up some while scanning
I was afraid of that but i do not really have a better option unlees I move it more to the outside edge of the boat and the installation instructions say put it as close to center as possible.
Yes that looks like a best mounting option you have ... Is that a lowrance 3 d transducer
A Garmin 73SV I think it is a GT21. I am suprised how big it is.
A six inch jackplate solved my problem. The jackplate is a $200 headache pill..
Well today I was going to drill and mount transducer in location shown in picture but noticed the bunk is right below the location and will hit the transducer when loading. I guess my only option now is to move the transducer more to the outside edge of the boat but then the transducer will be aproximately 20 inches off center of the boat. My question is what adverse effect will this have on my readings?
I think the original location would be best ..I would jack the boat up on the trailer and just cut a few inches off the bunk board ... where there is no danger of the transducer hitting it when loading the boat
That is a great idea!!! Thank you.
I just installled the same transducer on my Lowe stinger tin boat. I did get interference from my motor even with the mother trimmed up. So now im trying to reposition mine to get better image.
I get interference with mine also. It is useless when going any speed at all above trolling speed. if someone has a fix I would love to hear it.
I don't know anything about Lowrance transducers, however I would think you would get prop turbulence being that close to the motor?
Move it over to the right about a foot and I think you will be fine, thats where I had mine on my bass boat and never had any problems with it. So what if its off center a foot just accommodate for the foot when you fish.
