Cane Creek 1/4/17

Did a last minute trip to Cane Creek Park this morning water temps 49 degrees lite wind, Started looking in the deepest part of the lake 34" and picked up one or 2 at about 22ft deep, it was very slow pickins one here wait 20 minute one and repeat. The wind came up pretty good so I move in behind the tree line in 27fow still fishing 22ft started picking up fairly regular caught 11 total kept 9 for dinner.
Here's some pics first two bait was hard to find :-) last is the mess, 1 12" a couple 10 1/2s then the rest were 9-10"

Glad you got to wet a hook today. Little windy around here this afternoon. To tired to get going today. Yesterdays work whipped me pretty good. Christmas work load was heavy all week. Glad I'm off for a few days to rest up and go back to work and do it again. LOL Thanks for the report Grady. I may have to try Cane Creek with you someday. I have never been there!:fish

Nice pics, were those the crappie on your fish finder or shad?

If it was Crappie they weren't eating so I'm thinking shad. There is so much Shad in the lake I can't understand how all the fish aren't bulging at the seams.
This used to be a Trophy Bass lake, minimum was 18" now the the Crappie are in charge. A couple months ago they had a Crappie Tourny, it took over 9lbs to win

Were they mixed in all that bait or under it?

Oddly enough I caught fish with very little bait under the boat
