Don't know of a micro with a flipping switch, I bought some left handed low profile reels from Grizzly last spring, 32 bucks eack I think and have been very well pleased.
No micros as most flippin reels are built to take punishment of flippin heavy baits. The Ambassadeur 5000D was coveted by the flippin guys in the early days, and it had NO drag at all. Direct drive. I'll stew on it some and if I think of any I'll shoot you a PM.
Diawa and Shimano both made some composite models with a switch but they have some years on them by now. The one I had needed bearings and the parts list said nothing available, as did the Shimano SG10's I liked so much.
It sure is nice to be able to push the button and thumb the spool letting out a little line when fishing a short line and then just let up to lock it back in.
Abu. silver max is a low profile reel with a flipping switch. The old model Black Max had it too.
I use and sell the Mega cast reels from Bass pro.

This 1 is definately now on the short list ...

Other option ideas are still appreciated ...
Small (or low profile at least is important to me) ... and I really think the flipping switch would be an advantage on a spider riggin rod ...

I will look and get you a model number, been well pleased.
I use the silver max on some of mine and they work good.
The latest generation of the Silver Max baitcast reel series incorporates updated styling with advanced ergonomics. Notable advancements include a new Rocket clutch mechanism that gives anglers the ability to engage/disengage the spool with one hand. This feature eliminates the need for anglers to turn the handle for engagement and is perfect for pitching, flipping or back trolling fishing techniques.
Hey rickie, those newer silver max reels are funny to me though, they don't have the traditional on off switch. When the thumb bar is pressed the "flipping switch" pops up so then you have to press it back down top stop the spool. My old one has regular switch I like it a lot better.
What is the cheapest reel with a flipping switch if anyone knows
The left handed ones I got at Grizzly are the cheapest I found, ended up with a dozen of them.

I dont Rickie, nor have I been able to find a link. Call Lance, they called it a "Lefty Special", had cases of them.
One thing I have learned about Grizzly is that they have way more than whats in the catalog and even more that aint on the website.

This video shows the Abu Garcia Silver Max which seems to have the "flipping switch" that I'm looking for ...:
*Flipping switch on allows the reel to re-engage simply by releasing the thumb bar ...
*Flipping switch off allows regular baitcast operation ...

I don't like this action of the flipping switch because one has to take the thumb off the spool (or use the other hand) to push the flipping switch back down to re-engage the reel ...
I'm interesting in the old style flipping switch where simply releasing the thumb bar re-engages the reel ... (which seems to be in previous Silver Max models before this Generation 3 Silver Max) ...

Sorry Rickie can't ever write down what I'm trying to say. The new one I looked at bps did not have a switch, in the same location as the switch on my old one is a recessed button that pops up when the thumb bar is pressed to let the line out. Then the thumb bar stays down even when u let go of it, to stop the spool from letting out line u have push the recessed button that popped up back down to stop it. It is one handed but not nearly as convenient as as the actual on/off switch that allows the thumb bar to automatically come back up when u release it.
Still a little confusing I'm sure but I really recommend checking one out before u order any.
Letting off the thumb bar has to lock the spool, otherwise in a crappie trolling situation its no better then a regular reel. I can let line out and reach for the net at the same time without having to do anything but raise my thumb from the bar to lock the spool.
The above is the flipping switch action I'm looking for ...

That new style Generation 3 Silver Max is different ... I could see the spool backlashing as soon as I raise my thumb off the spool to depress that button on the side plate down ... and I want my other hand completely free and not have to use the free hand to depress that button ...
Now ... if I could find some close outs on previous Silver Max models ... Before Abu changed it to Gen3 ..
I'll be calling Lance soon it seems ...

They are tuff, good drag too, set the hook on a 6 lb largemouth not long ago and it did the job with him too.
This is an old topic I came across last weekend while researching reels for pushing jigs. I liked the idea of the flipping switch on the Gen 2 silvermax reel, like in Rickie's video.
Doing some more digging the newer ABU GARCIA STX reel has this style of flipping switch again. Went to Sportsman Warehouse to play around with the left and right hand models. I haven't used a baitcaster before so I'm not used to one or the other. I found the left handed one worked better for me, although I'm right handed.
Ordered 4 of the left hand models from amazon, ABU is doing some kind of sale on them right now. Left handed reels can be had for $40 shopping around some and right handed a couple bucks less than that.
Just wanted to add some info in case someone else happens to be looking for the same info.
One note I would add since this thread has resurfaced ...
Several models of bait casting reels (that don’t even have the flipping switch feature) can easily re-engage the spool by a quick upward pressure of the thumb bar with one’s thumb “under” the thumb bar and still not use the handle to re-engage the spool ...
