New Crappie Rod in Town

There is a new crappie rod on the market. Went to Florida last week and planned on doing my usual week of fishing. Went by the bait shop and there were some rods hanging up on the ceiling. The owner of the bait shop took one down for me and we took it outside. WOW!!!!!:woohoo. You talking about a crappie rod. It was a 16' pole and I have yet to see any other pole to compare with it. I have always been a big fan of the BnM PST rods, but my mind has been changed. The back bone is unbelievable and the tip is stll sensitive enough to see the slightest of bites. When we got back to where I was staying that day we compared it to both the Walley Marshal 16' rod and the BnM PST 16' rod. It was lighter in weight than the Walley Marshal and slightly heaver than the BnM. Again, the back bone in this rod was better than the Walley Marshal and the BnM PST rods hands down. The rod is a Vexan Rod. They have been making rods for bass and walleye fishing and now have started making rods for crappie fishing. Right now they have them in 6.6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 foot lengths. They are made with a modified IM8+ trade secret Titan TM technology blank. The "BAR HAS BEEN RAISED" in a crappie rod. Looked online and the manufacturer is tackle industries and they run 39.95-59.95.

I've learned over the years that the more one pays for rods and has more patches on their shirts, they catch more fish than most of us Wally World discount fishermen. Really, they do!:biggrin

looks like some i saw at bass pro shop in Macon .i didn`t rally look at them for price but did have a sensitive tip and a lot of backbone same color .

Wise choice Spider :highfive...Well I can say that the Vexan rod is in a class by it's self and I have a couple and will be replacing the remainder of my front poles with Vexan and will also switch my longline poles to Vexan I'm smitten these poles are a game changer sort of like Millennium rod holders you just can't help but notice them and once you fish with them you and the fish are hooked :fish

wife liked that she thinks it is adorable :scratchhead. just bought 8 from hotwater and she wanted me to do that . have some more but they are over at the lake . got out of that :biggrin

Here are some things I have found out over the last few times out fishing. The B & M rods I used to use could only handle a 3/4oz, when pushing, due to rod/tip bounce in choppy to rough water. I pushed up to 1.2mph. Using a 1oz weight in rough to choppy water was out of the question. These new Vexan rods allow me to use a 1oz weight and allow me to push up to 1.5mph with VERY VERY minimal to NO rod/tip bounce and I can still see the slightest bite. When a boat wake is encountered , the rod/tip bounce stops as soon as the wake passes. NO extra bounce or time for the rod to settle down. It's amaising the back bone in these rods. I haven't done it yet, but I would be willing to bet that, if needed, I could go up to a 1.5oz weight and get to 1.8mph.:HandsClapping

May I have all your old ones? I can not stand the thought of the SPIDERMAN fishing with inferior equipment.

:Rofl:Rofl:Rofl. To late Earl. I've been teaching a co-worker of mine the art of spider-rolling and he bought them off me. I warned him that if he started fishing the way I do that he would have to step over to the dark side and he would be in the minority.:biggrin

Ok Spidie you are going to have to do a educational video on spider rolling to bring us over to the dark side.
