Prayers needed
I hate that this comes at the happiest time of the year but I need your help. Tom Darden is a good friend of mine and will be undergoing open heart surgery on Tuesday the 13th to replace the aortic valve and repair the leaking mitral valve. A good man and I'm not sure he's saved, a long story that's difficult to relate. He and I started driving for the same company 10 yrs plus back and have kept in touch with one another over the years. I firmly believe in the power of prayer, and the Lord will do as he sees best. Please ask for his hands on Tom and his doctor while he gets what he calls his "Valve Job" done. A good friend I would hate to lose, one of a kind. You all have always stood up when needed before and I will thank you here and now, for I know you'll stand up now.............Skeet.

Tom will be in our prayers. My wife had the aortic valve replaced four years ago and has done well with it. The recovery period from the surgery is fairly painful, though.

I have a lot of faith things will go well. Will include him in my prayers. Will also pray for the medical team that performs the procedure. Had this done in 2010. It will be a life changing experience. If he's getting a mechanical valve his diet will change and he'll be on a blood thinner that has to be checked regularly. And good part is he'll be able to tell his hearts beating cause he's gonna hear it. My son gets close to me he hears mine. Prayers for family sent also.

Praying for salvation as well as healing...

He has my prayers.
2 years ago; I had aortic valve replacement, I had lots of prayer support and I believe it helped alot.
The first couple of weeks afterwards, he will need a ton of understanding. A cough or a sneeze is the most excruciating thing you can imagine at that time (ever have a bruised or broken rib? Try all of them at the same time).

Prayers sent for successful surgery and recovery. God bless.

God is going to take care of Tom. The physical and the spiritual. God honors the prayers of His people. God puts problems in our paths for His purpose. The bigger the problem, the bigger God's purpose is in our life.
God, what are You up to here? Salvation, rededication, a closer walk? May Your will be done.
Blessings Skeetbum!!

Thank you all for your support and prayers. I spoke with him briefly today and he is, as he always is, in very good spirits. His surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, if I remember right, and will be open heart. They spoke of another method but his work couldn't be done that way. I told him of this post and all the response and of some of your experiences of what to expect. Like me, he drives for a living and is currently sidelined. Also like me, he doesn't sit still very well. A trip to see him isn't doable right now and I so wish it could be. We both know the life of a driver. I'll keep you all up to speed as this develops. He was searching the fridge for a piece of last lights Pizza when we hung up. You all are the best.......Skeet.
