Ok....this contest will run from now untill Christmas day. Three ways to enter... To enter the contest post a favorite Christmas picture of you, or your family, kids, grand kids, or friends. Or you can post about a favorite Christmas memory, Or tell us what you like most about Christmas, or what Christmas means to you.. You can enter once per day. Winners will be chosen by Mitch Glen (of Arkie Jigs) and his wife and me "G" and my wife. There will be three prize packages as follows:

Christmas is the best time of the year.

I love Christmas for a lot of reasons, Birth of Christ, family and great friendship.

If the good Lord is willing, I will see my 74th Christmas this year! There are so many GOOD memories I could fill pages here, but for everyone's sake I won't do that. :biggrin

Sixty two years ago, I got a Heddon Pal steel casting rod for Christmas.

Birth of our Savior and seeing family.

Christmas is a very special time as family and friends gather to celebrate the birth of Christ.

X-mas is the best cause it brings lots of fishing tackle.

One of my favorite memories of Christmas was 14 years ago when my granddaughter Katie was just 7 months old. She was at our house for Christmas morning and we were opening presents. She just got a new baby walker and was setting in it. Someone put a gold bow on her head that came off the walker and the sun shinned in the window and there was a glitter effect through out the room. She turned her head and the reflection moved around the room She was amazed as we all were. It was beautiful. Have never seen the sun come through that window again during Christmas quit like that.

Getting new fishing stuff!!!

For me, Christmas meant I got to spend a few days with my parents, as many of us, I moved away years ago and only got to see them a few times a year. This year will be completely different as my mother passed away from cancer in June. Not sure it will be a joyous celebration, but with God's support, I know I will make it somehow.

Rejoicing the birth of our Savior

One of my fondest Christmas memories is from just a few years back. After lots of praying I proposed to my wonderful wife Jenni on Christmas Eve. My mom was wanting to cook some redfish for the Christmas Eve crowd that night and I only had an old styrofoam cooler to transport it in. I had been trying to scheme up something for a few days on how to surprise her with a ring. When I showed up at Jenni's house to get the fish out of the freezer I kept over there she asked why I had on such nice clothes. They weren't overly nice but clean for once. I was only supposedly dropping off the cooker to use later and then going to hunt that afternoon. I told her I didn't want to have to change before I showed up for our gathering that evening. But I had the cooler in hand and asked her to be sure it was clean enough to use to put the fish in. It took a couple times asking but she finally looked inside and there was a little box in there with a ring. She didn't know what it was at first. As soon as she realized and opened it she came unglued. I'm not real sure if I even asked or if there was even a yes in there since we were both so excited. To shorten the story up a bit I ended up getting a nice buck that afternoon and spent the evening with what I swear was the most wound up group of moms, sisters, aunts and the like you have ever seen. And to top it all off I took Jenni to hunt on Christmas Day after we had about her round with a differ t side of the family and she killed her first buck that afternoon. It was surely a Christmas I will never forget and I thank the lord for her everyday.

Because I work offshore, we have to celebrate Christmas according to my schedule instead of the calendar.
