Is there a bunch of deer hunters there? We're heading to Northeast Miss for 3-4 days this coming weekend and I don't want to mess a bunch of folks up with my squirrel dogs. We're staying near Ripley so Upper Sardis ain;t to far away.

A lot of hunters in the Holly Springs national forest. Especially now thru the rut the next few weeks. I would check with the MDWFP about good areas for dogs and squirrel hunting over there. I get mad enough with people walking and riding 4 wheelers all over messing me up, god forbid a bunch of dogs yapping... Lol. Where about in Ripley? I deer hunt in between Ripley and Ashland on private land.
Staying at some lake just Northwest of town. Yeh, I'm checking out Bigfoot reports LOL
Sighting solved. They just saw Snubbys on his way to the deer stand!

I tote a big gun so a suit wouldn't be smart LOL
Think so G. talking the camper up Thursday morning and coming home Sunday.
On the conversation of upper Sardis, there is a road East of Wyatt's crossing called whiskey hill. It dead ends into the lake when there is water. Can anybody tell me if there is water????
That part of Ms. will look like the Measel's with orange with deer hunters. I've hunted all over that part, and I would be very worried about a stand hunter shooting any dog messing up there hunting spot that they been working on all year. That is just my thought on it, I would hate to see you lose a good dog.
Thanks Cowboy. I'll be careful. Someone shoots my dog, I'll shoot their right private part off. Got the 22 sighted in real good lol. Wish Id have known G, al my bream stuff is at the farm
Had to make sure it was a Bigfoot and not you running round the woods nekid again lol
they not real small , lol Attachment 252718Attachment 252719Attachment 252720
Darn those look like speckled butter beans!! What does the small ones look like peanuts????
DD there is a large amount of Corp property in upper sardis area that has a lot of hardwood timber on river. as long as its corp land you should not have much problem. check regulations they limit when you can hunt with dogs., only thing there is a lot of hogs in there.
Just checked and during small game season, dogs are allowed any time. I may or may not hunt there, just looking at options is all. Kinda looks like a good spot where 202 and 244 intersect. Gravel road all the way to a creek on the North line of Upper Sardis. Looks like a boat launch
if you turn west at that junction then take first right it goes all the way to the river. I have hunted all up and down river . we was hog hunting but woods looked like good squirrel woods. its not real thick and fairly easy walking.
there is a game management area south of ripley, west of blue mountain called Hell's creek ( I think that's the name). don't know anything about it just know its out there. you might look into that. its a lot closer to ripley.
Deroc. I looked at it but doesn't appear to be many hardwoods on it based on Google. I was gonna ride by it and look though. I have all the maps printed out for the national forest so I know where I can and can't go.
Somebody told me they did not think dogs were allowed in the management areas during deer or turkey season.....dunno

Sure, they're safe from our 22s lol
Nice! I like those targets also, just looked them up online. I will have to get some of those bad boys. Make sighting in a little easier at 100 yards plus.

Sure are nice Snubby. I got tired of walking down to see where I hit. We only sight the 22s in at 30 yards. That center red dot is only bout 1 1/2" across. That was my wifes shootin. She done good. I do love having that farm man. It's nice to just pull out the guns and start shootin LOL
Yep.....i do that in my back yard

I downloaded this target, send it to the printer to make one copy on standard size paper. Then to the copy machine to make a lot of copies. Got some larger paper so I could get 2 targets on one sheet. http://mytargets.com/Target4%20red%20circles.pdf
I place one of these on the center of the targets. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Birchwood...ha7TpgN4hq_ASA
