They all look great but I like the top left one the most
Tremendous!!! They will catch for sure!
Thanks guys! For me the top left is best and the bottom left maybe #2, but top right if water is stained bad like after a good rain. The bottom right I do not remember ever using myself.
Top left though is a killer for sure once the water clear up and maybe see a jig 3' down in the water!
All of these has a good amount of Florescent to them and only the bottom right's body is not.

Do you try and make the flash flare outward?
I remember you told me not too much flash but it's fun to lather it on!
Thanks

That is my Hareline Saltwater Neck Hackle that I have an add for on the members sponsor classified board here. The top right one though is not one I have enough of and don't believe it's even Saltwater Neck Hackle. If like FL Fire Orange I think?
Thank you!

outstanding looking jigs skip the colors are nice and bright and they really do stand out and I'm sure that they will be a fish killer.
Excellent looking jigs skip.
Oh yes. The colors pop. All would work well here. Nice.
Your tying is superb as usual.
The one thing I can't mistake is fl colors. I've seen em all. They pop in a white background, especially under a camera filter.
I'd say if i cldnt catch a limit with at least two of those combos.....under the worst conditions ..... everyone else might as well just stay at home to catch two....or three....

LOL!
Skip, I love your work and am interested in why your jigs have no eyes most of the time. I spend way to much time trying to make my own eyes on jigs because I think it makes a difference in catching fish, what do you think? And please, anyone else chime in in you thoughts.
Because it too time consuming! How do you do yours?

I think it helps, predator fish don't know what an eye is but they do know that the end with the black dot is the direction that thing is moving in and gives the crappie an attack point.
Because I feel that most of the time it make no difference. Heck some guys don't even want a painted head. Then once I read about some guys that were fishing and wanted to see what the fish were actually hitting and that day for them the lead head got more hits than anything else and I mean not even a hook, think it may have just been a split shot they had to test with and could see what the fish did.
Only think I put eyes on in my little Roadrunner and that is just a Black eye. I am for sure not going to do the glue on eyes and all that especially if I want to sell any. Way too much time spent on eyes when really I don't think it matters much. I have tied a lot of jigs in the last 12 years or so and they seem to work well. I did use to paint on eyes, but after a while of doing that I just got away from it. For sure I don't think it needs to me more than a black dot and for sure the fish are not going to examine how much the eye looks real? I will stick with none on regular heads and a Black dot on my little Roadrunners.
Oh and here is a pic of one of my old jigs off my web site that had eyes I painted on, but this was probably 10 years ago??

Thanks for the input, I fish with some folks that only use lead heads unpainted and they do quite well. I guess I do it for the art of doing it, cant really say it makes catching better, I know that I could never do it in mass as that would be cost prohibitive.
I honestly don't believe an eye makes a diff in feeding fish. Most big catches come from feeding fish. Shallower fish.
Trolling especially.
But if you're Gon take the time to tie, and you have heads with sockets, put an eye on it. Why would you not? It comes down to if you're tying or selling. Then it comes down to what kind of fishing you're doing with the heads you are fishing. A ball head is tried and true to me. But, if you're tying you're own jigs, find multiple heads to fit your fishing styles. If you can put eyes on em, I'd do so.....my opinion.

Where do you guys get the collarless jigs. I find small ones 1/80etc... at Bass Pro. But most of the other places I look have the jigs with collars.
Most of us pour our own. But you can get them from Crazy Angler, think they're 10 bucks a 100, but you'll still have to file the seams off!

Agree with Micropterus and I do have some heads with sockets and when I decide to tie one of them, I do add the eyes and all, but really I buy things like that at the spur of the moment and later wonder what I did that, lol! I want to use more of them, but it's hard for me to break the habit. Perfect example of this is my 1/16 Oz Roadrunner 2 heads, I didn't realize they not only have a shallow socket, but also a darn collar so I bought 500 0f them and have hardly painted and tied many at all. I guess I will at some point, but has time has not struck me yet!
I also have probably 1200 to 1400 1/8 Walleye heads with sockets and #2 Sickle hooks and they sit here. Almost sold a bunch last week, but the guy had something else come up or I would have less now, but would have still be more than I will ever use, lol! Have way too much materials the same way, just have stuff especially for fly tying that I guess will sit here for ever, but I saw, liked, wanted so bought, lol! Just have to take more time playing around with more of this to do some new things. I do have a lot of ideas that I want to do, just have to keep that stuff in mind when I have a little time to play, but I forget due to some things that are noting more than a waste of time. Like some stupid game on the phone or pad. That is where my time is going to come from and soon!
Worked right into a little vent so sorry, but glad I worked through that and came out with a good idea!

Check out the Member Sponsor Classified Board. There are even more guys that do this than the ones that post ads so just check around for them. I believe their is also a place on here to see guys ads as a listing, but forget where that is. Here is a link to the board...
http://www.crappie.com/crappie/-memb...lassified-ads/
Also check on eBay as there are some we know here that also sell things on eBay like fishhunter775. Also I think bugman also may sell heads, but there are more. My guy is slowing down and is not really looking for more to do and that is Grousefly. Talked to him a couple days ago and he is more heading to what I do which is not much and sure not in a hurry! Still plenty of guys do this.

I have been tying for at least 12 years, probably. A little longer? I have never poured my own and never wanted to mess with it! There are plenty of guys that pour, just find one you like and also like their work and buy them as you need them. I use t order 100O or so of every popular size and shape, but slower ones like 1/64 or other kinds of hooks I will order just a few hundred at a time. Tying for your self, maybe get 100 at a time unless you only want to use one size and type, then get a few hundred at a time! It's nice t alll that expensive when you pay something like .10 each plus shipping!

The top left looks great. Love the tail colour.
Thank you!
That is Chrome/FL Yellow & Blue Crystal/FL Blue SW Hackle! This is very close one one of my favorites after I can see my jig 3' down in the water! Only difference is I mostly use just a solid color for the body for that, but also feel this way is just as good because of the FL Yellow in the body. I absolutely love the FL Blue tail!
After leaving this I decided I needed to explain a little better. This color will also work well in stained water! My favorite in clear water is just put a Silver Crystal body on this jig!
