Beautiful fish.....they look like they are in spawning colors......of I course I know that is not the case.

These Black Crappie on the St. Johns water system are some of the most beautiful Crappie anywhere. I don't know if it's the slight salinity of the water, or just the clear spring fed waters. Prolly both. Don't know if'n you all know this, but it's the only river in the USA that runs North, not South.
Biggest crappie I've caught came on a Beetle Spin on an oxbow off the St Johns near Deland.
Great looking crappie -- well done.
Slab, the Tennessee River and the Cumberland River both run north. Both of these rivers form KY Lake and Lake Barkley.Quote:
