Nice deer, great pic!
Attaboy Tim, not chasing over on the east side of the state yet. Soon though!
Nice shot. I haven't seen any chasing yet.
Full moon is the 14th. Rut should peak right in there. Need to be in a stand every chance you get from now until rifle. Afraid this warm weather is gonna cause most of the rutting to take place at night. Looks like we may have the warmest rifle season in a lot of years. All the deer we are seeing is right at daylight and dark.
When I checked my camera last week I had set up on a new rub line I had one 10 point and one 8 point with nose to the ground chasing does. Not sure how many times those does ran in front of the camera and each time it had one of the bucks just seconds behind them but like TimY said, they were at night. Not much movement during the day. Have not checked camera in a week though. Did get a good pic of a 13 that has been coming in off and on. May not be around when I take my daughter hunting though. I sure hope he is! I would be one excited dad!

If your daughter harvests that toad she will be hooked for life and ruined for life cause she may not be able to top it. That's a good problem though.
We are seeing buck movement in the evenings before dark and during shooting light. That's the good part. The bad part is I am not in my shooting house when my wife sees them come in:Doh::Doh:
Tonight may be different:biggrin
Two years ago I got a 16 point that was a lot bigger then that 13 so there is a chance she can top it! I will be so happy even if she just gets a doe honestly. The time I get to spend with her in the woods or on the water is always the best. I know someday she will choose to do other things then hang out with dad. :( And just FYI CG.... the BFO is doing real well so far. Not much has been on it due to all the acorns but its ready for them when they are.
I was in the stand tonight for the first time in 4 days. Saw some does come out on the other side of the wheat field to feed, and then they started running all over the place. Figured a buck was on them. Shortly afterward a little spike came right down the middle of the wheat field like he owned it. He was probably the culprit.
I had a decent 13 point coming in right after dark like clockwork, but he was nowhere to be seen tonight after checking my trail cam card.
Its been my experience in my area, that the little bucks seem to come into rut a little sooner that the big guys. The bigguns come in and stay in later.
Great!!
This deer ended up being my biggest bow kill to date. Toughest deer I ever hunted. Took 2 years to finally get him. He was a 7 x 8 field dressed 216 lbs.
TimY.... do you feed in that all year? what all do you put in it when you do use it? I have tossed the idea of making a couple.
Looks like you need a little coon control.
Feed Big and J along with protein pellets from May thru February
My oldest granddaughter got her first archery buck last night. She's off to a good start.

Congrats young lady. Thats a heck of a deer.
Congratulations on a nice buck young lady and thanks for sharing
Just thought I would share with you how truly blessed I am. This year I will have 4 generations in my family hunting together. This is my wife, son, daughter- in- law and granddaughter plus the old fart. My 8 yr old granddaughter is hunting with us this year. We are serious about big crappie but also big whitetails. I give thanks everyday for the family I have. Nothing like having them all out there with you. Hope everyone has a great deer season.

Wow!!! All great deer and even better memories with family. Really like that rack on your sons deer. Glad to see the whole family involved. Thanks for sharing Tim!!!!!
Very nice Tim!
I connected with the bow last night.
One side is broken off. Didn't see that before the shot or he would have got a pass.
Had one minute of legal light left when I connected.

With 1 tag left I let this one walk by yesterday and the pulled the card in my camera last night and had pictures of him a couple days ago. When I got home I looked at him in the photos and realized how dum it was to let him walk. Gotta start wearin my glasses. Just another sign of old age creepin up.
join the crowd.
Tim, how much property are you hunting and how long have you been managing it?
Not hunting but a few hundred acres for 34 years now. Got to let those 3 and 4 yr old deer go and hunt the 5 to 8 yr olds. That is hard sometimes when a big 3 yr old walks by but it gets easier with time. Don't see a lot of deer and have to work really hard for an older buck.
